RHONY’s Jessel Taank Shares Update on Season 16

Jessel Taank is ready to take another bite out of the Big Apple.

After announcing that *The Real Housewives of New York City* would continue despite issues with its last season, Andy Cohen recently provided an update on the show’s future.

Jessel confirmed plans are moving forward, telling TopMob News at the Diwali celebration on October 3rd that several announcements will be made shortly.

As someone who follows the world of reality TV and branding closely, I’ve been watching the *RHONY* reboot with a keen eye. It’s a big shift for such a beloved show, and honestly, Bravo is doing what any smart team does when shaking things up: they’re experimenting! It’s all about trying new things, seeing what works, and learning along the way. Major changes always require a bit of trial and error, and that’s perfectly normal.

She explained that this was a new experience for them. She added that sometimes things will go smoothly the first time, and other times they won’t.

Ultimately, the success of reality TV hinges on the people involved. As she put it, “It’s all about finding the right mix of personalities, and you just never know how things will play out.”

Jessel and her fellow cast members – Rebecca Minkoff, Sai de Silva, Jenna Lyons, Erin Lichy, Racquel Chevremont, Ubah Hassan, and Brynn Whitfield – all experienced this. The season ended with a major conflict between Racquel and Brynn, which dominated the reunion episode and left viewers questioning what would happen with the show. Brynn later chose to leave after being on the show for two seasons.

Jessel views season 16 as an opportunity to demonstrate the true meaning of a luxurious lifestyle in New York City.

I want to capture the real spirit of New York – the fashion, the excitement, and a peek into the lives of six women who are successfully balancing everything.

Even though Brynn isn’t coming back, and Rebecca only stayed for one season, Jessel still has a lot of affection for the marketing consultant.

I hope Brynn does well in the future,” the 45-year-old commented. “Being on reality TV can be tough because it exposes so much of your personal life. Everyone is just trying to navigate it as best they can, and I really hope she finds happiness and success.

Being on the new version of *RHONY* was particularly challenging for everyone involved, especially considering Andy had shared with *Variety* that the goal was to bring together a more diverse group of women.

Jessel explained they faced a big challenge taking over from a show with a dedicated following. It felt like they had to completely start fresh and try a new approach, as if wiping the slate clean.

She admitted it was difficult news for many to accept. However, she strongly believes they’re the right team for the job and that the network is making a smart decision.

With season 16 of *The Real Housewives of New York City* on the horizon, here’s TopMob’s complete ranking of all the housewives to hold you over until then.

Bravo’s show about Washington D.C. featured four women—Mary Amons, Lynda Erkiletian, Cat Ommanney, and Stacie Scott Turner—who didn’t exactly make a lasting impression. It also included one woman so eager for attention that she actually crashed a party at the White House. We’ll be talking about her later.

Who?

Vaguely familiar, but…

Once upon a time, DeShawn starred on the same TV show as NeNe Leakes. Surprising, we know.

This one-season Housewife brought nothing to the Orange County table.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen a lot of reality TV drama, but the situation with Jennie on ‘The Real Housewives of Utah’ was particularly tough. She joined as a new Housewife, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. Back in January 2022, some old, offensive posts from her Facebook account came to light, and she was ultimately let go from the show. She did issue an apology, but the impact of those posts was already done, and it was a difficult situation for everyone involved.

Her defining trait was “cougar.”

Dr. Jen didn’t cause much drama during season 16, and her short-lived marriage issues with her husband, Ryne, weren’t very exciting. But we’ll always remember her getting noticeably drunk on wine at the Dubrows’ dinner party – it was a strange but surprisingly fun event!

The nurse anesthetist’s show had a disastrous first season, and it’s best remembered by one embarrassing incident – a mishap now simply known as ‘Esophagus-gate’.

Katie frequently discussed her charitable endeavors, but she didn’t offer much substance on the show. She made brief appearances and didn’t really engage with the other cast members as a friend. And leaving the cast trip early was a major breach of etiquette for a reality TV star.

Charrisse is mostly remembered for her highly publicized marital issues during her two seasons on the show, and, of course, her famous champagne room.

A one-and-done Housewife, Shamari was at least fun?

Although it was refreshing to see some diversity on *The Real Housewives of Orange County*, Peggy became a frustrating cast member in season 12. She frequently started arguments over misunderstandings, often focusing on words she didn’t know, and her decision to isolate herself during the Iceland trip showed she wasn’t suited for the lifestyle.

Nneka’s first season on the show focused on a surprising and dramatic conflict: she accused Wendy Osefo’s mother of witchcraft. It was a shame, as it would have been great to see Nneka and Wendy connect over their Nigerian heritage instead of being stuck in a never-ending argument.

Noella brought a lot of energy to season 16, but it was often chaotic. Although viewers felt some sympathy for her personal issues – her husband, James, unexpectedly filed for divorce just before filming began – it was her ongoing conflict with Heather Dubrow that kept her from being the least popular cast member. Perhaps with more time on the show, viewers will connect with Noella.

It’s rare to see a Real Housewife’s reputation decline so quickly. One season she was a peacemaker, and the next, she was constantly complaining – even over a thrown cake – and making baseless accusations of anti-Semitism, ultimately leading to her departure from the show.

Amber and Jim both appeared to be acting out of desperation. However, Jim seemed much more caught up in the problems than Amber, which didn’t look good for him.

Honestly, all I really know about Karent is that she used to be a dentist, and from what I’ve gathered, her fellow cast members really didn’t get along with her. Moving on now!

This was a real person with a show on Bravo. We promise.

Jules was only on *RHONY* for one season, so it’s hard to place her higher on a ranking list. Still, she definitely brought the drama during her time on the show.

So unnecessary they couldn’t even get individual taglines.

Similar to her colleague Sara Al Madani, Nina represented a modern, successful Arab woman who skillfully balances contemporary living with her cultural heritage. She generally stayed out of the season’s conflicts and, at times, wasn’t as noticeable as some of the more outgoing personalities on the show.

I really liked Taleen on *RHODubai*’s second season, and I think she brought a lot to the show. But honestly, it’s hard to get a full read on someone after just one season, so I’m still forming my opinion!

Though she appeared on seasons 11 and 12 of *America’s Next Top Model*, this reality star didn’t make a significant impact on *The Real Housewives of Atlanta*, mainly remembered for being pregnant throughout her time on the show. However, her iconic confrontation with Marlo Hampton while in Tokyo was a definite highlight.

Generally, we like to see how a new Housewife does over at least one full season before ranking them highly. However, Katie made a huge impact right away on season 18 of RHOC, immediately challenging veteran Housewife Heather Dubrow. It’s bold to question someone like Ms. Fancypants!

To be frank, Stephanie wasn’t a favorite of ours. Although she had the potential to be a compelling Housewife due to her wealth, her habit of flaunting her private jet and using it to control the other women on season seven left a bad impression.

Maybe Steph can redeem herself if she returns for season eight.

Sara had a consistently cheerful and optimistic attitude, which made her a joy to be around, though things were usually quite calm around her – except for the time she gave her co-star, Caroline Brooks, some unsolicited parenting advice that didn’t go over well. More importantly, she challenged common ideas about what it means to be a modern Muslim woman in the Middle East, and that’s something to be celebrated.

The new cast members on season 13 of *RHONJ* quickly fell into familiar patterns for Garden State Housewives, getting caught up in a season-long, ultimately meaningless argument that even Andy Cohen called out as pointless. Sadly, their second season didn’t offer much more depth either.

Larsa Pippen wasn’t a major standout during her initial run on the show. When The Real Housewives of Miami returned in 2021, a lot of her story focused on her past friendship with Kim Kardashian – and her side hustle selling photos of her feet online.

After appearing on Bravo TV for one season, Ana tried out for season 12 of *Next Food Network Star* in 2016, but wasn’t selected.
