Wendy Osefo and Edward Osefo have spoken out following their arrests.
Following their arrest on October 9th in Westminster, Maryland, for several fraud-related felonies, stars of *The Real Housewives of Potomac* were each released on $50,000 bond and allowed to return home.
Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward, are home safe with their family and doing well, according to a statement from Wendy’s representative on October 10th. They appreciate all the support and concern they’ve received from friends, fans, and coworkers.
The Osefo family, with the support of their lawyers, are eager to present their case in court. They have asked for privacy at this time so they can focus on their family and the ongoing legal proceedings.
Wendy and Edward, both 41, were indicted by a Maryland grand jury on multiple fraud charges, according to court records obtained by TopMob News. Wendy faces seven felony counts, while her husband faces nine. They were also each charged with eight misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit fraud and one count of lying to a police officer.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the charges stem from an incident in April 2024 where the Osefos reportedly falsely claimed their home had been burglarized and items stolen. This information was released in a statement on October 10th.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the homeowners told them they’d returned from vacation to find their home had been burglarized and many items were missing. They reported over 80 pieces of jewelry, designer clothes, and other luxury goods, with a total estimated value of more than $200,000, had been stolen, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators accused Wendy and Edward, parents of Karter (11), Kruz (9), and Kamrynn (5), of making untrue statements.
In an interview published on October 8th, Wendy told Deadline that she hasn’t spoken to the person since they were released. However, she believes everyone deserves a chance to share their own experiences. She emphasized that it’s important for people to tell their stories themselves, rather than having others do it for them.
Although there’s no proof connecting their arrests to Eddie’s new cannabis brand, Happy Eddie, the former professor had recently been talking about how well the company was doing financially and that he was planning to grow the business.
The investigation revealed that owners had returned over $20,000 worth of reportedly stolen items to the stores where they originally bought them. Detectives also discovered photos of a homeowner wearing jewelry that had been reported stolen during a burglary.
Prosecutors say Wendy and Edward reportedly told their insurance company they lost $450,000 worth of personal belongings, as stated in documents recommending their bail.
The pair are due back in court in November, online court records show.
Even while dealing with legal issues, Wendy is still appearing on season 10 of *The Real Housewives of Potomac*, which you can watch Sundays on Bravo. Want to know who else is on the show this season? Read on to find out!

I’m so fascinated by Gizelle Bryant! After her time on *Love Hotel*, she seems really ready to enjoy being single and I’ve heard she’s meeting some new people. As one of the OG housewives, she’s definitely taking the lead this season, organizing everyone while still keeping them all honest – she doesn’t let anyone get away with anything!

I’m really seeing Keiarna Stewart grow and demand more from life, and from her relationship with Greg. She’s not afraid to challenge things, which I admire. Honestly, she’s making me wonder if everyone in their friend group is truly genuine, and she needs to know if Greg is serious about a future with her. It’s a tough spot, but I’m rooting for her to figure things out!
