Teresa Reveles is finally sharing insight into her relationship with Richard Simmons.
31 years after the passing of the ‘Sweatin’ to the Oldies’ instructor in his residence in Beverly Hills, a day following his 76th birthday, his long-time housekeeper, who lived with him for over three decades, is now sharing insights into their unusual relationship dynamics.
In an interview with NBC News’ Liz Kreutz, she stated, “No one has ever been loved by him as I was,” emphasizing that their relationship was not sexual but he often showed affection towards her through frequent kisses.
Reveles, who joined Simmons’ team towards the end of the 1980s, indicated that their relationship developed rapidly, and he expressed that Simmons fell for her immediately, stating, “He claimed that I would never abandon him.
Despite spending the majority of their time at Simmons’ house, Reveles dismissed the past suspicions from Simmons’ friends about a decade ago that she had abducted him. Speaking to NBC News, she humorously countered, “No, I believe he actually kidnapped me.
Reveles acknowledged that their relationship was unique, pointing out that Simmons considered her as one of the few individuals who came close to being his romantic partner during his final days.
She referred to Simmons as “everything to me,” but then elaborated, “He was more like a brother, or even like a father figure, a friend, and at times, a boyfriend.
Regarding how Simmons viewed potential romantic interests, she chose not to disclose, stating, “Such information is meant for Richard, not for myself.
Regardless of the concerns or whispers about their relationship within Simmons’ close group, Reveles chose to disregard the rumors.
The 73-year-old went on, “That’s for them to deal with, isn’t it? We had been quite content. Those last ten years were our happiest.
Indulge me with this rephrasing: The housekeeper remarked that she hadn’t observed Richard, even at his advanced age of 76, to have a single bad day. In essence, she stated that Richard had never appeared to be unhappy, rude, or upset during the span of her 36 years working with him.
In response to questions about his relationship with Reveles, Simmons remained vague, but he did dispel the hostage rumors that surfaced in 2016.
In response to Entertainment Tonight’s query, I, a devoted fan, declared, “I haven’t been kidnapped.” Instead, I chose to spend some quality alone time at my home, as it seemed fitting to do so.
