Rick and Morty Confirms Season 9 Streaming Date (& It’s Good News for Fans)

Fans of Rick and Morty have reason to celebrate! A new season of the popular animated show is coming this year, and its streaming release date has been announced before it returns to Adult Swim. Following the conclusion of Season 8 last year, Season 9 is arriving quickly, just a year later. With production now running smoothly, Rick and Morty is continuing to produce episodes as part of its 100-episode order with Adult Swim, and it’s on pace to become the network’s longest-running original series.

Adult Swim has given fans a first glimpse of Rick and Morty Season 9, which will premiere on TV this Spring. The new season will also be available to stream starting August 31st in the United States. While those who watch on TV will see the episodes first, streaming viewers won’t have to wait long after the season finishes airing.

When Does Rick and Morty Season 9 Come Out?

I’m excited to share that Season 9 of Rick and Morty is premiering on Adult Swim on Sunday, May 24th at 11:00pm Eastern and Pacific time. After the season wraps up, it’ll be available to stream in the US starting August 31st. We don’t know exactly where yet, but you can already watch previous seasons on Hulu and HBO Max, so it’s likely it will end up on one of those platforms as well.

If you can’t watch Rick and Morty Season 9 when it first airs on Adult Swim, you’ll be able to buy the episodes online the next day. As for what’s in store this season, the show isn’t sharing many details. Season 8 went back to a more standalone, episode-by-episode format, making it even harder to guess what will happen next.

What’s Next for Rick and Morty?

Season 9 of Rick and Morty is coming this spring and will be available to stream this summer. Adult Swim also has plans to expand the Rick and Morty universe with a new spinoff series – the first official one set within the same world as the original show. Unlike the previously released Rick and Morty: The Anime, this spinoff will focus heavily on the character of President Curtis, voiced by Keith David.

President Curtis is a new spin-off series from the creators of Rick and Morty, Dan Harmon and James Siciliano. They’ll also be executive producers, along with Danielle Uhlarik, Monica Mitchell, and Steve Levy. Keith David will star in the series, as he did in Rick and Morty, and Stephanie Beatriz and Jim Rash will also appear in currently unknown roles. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.
