The long-awaited eighth season of “Rick and Morty” is now available on streaming platforms, after initial production hiccups pushed back its release date from the original plan. Although the popular animated series faced a year-long delay due to unforeseen circumstances following Season 7’s conclusion, it eventually returned this year with fresh episodes that introduced new developments in the storyline and set up a new normal for the characters.
The eighth season of the popular animated series “Rick and Morty” is set to premiere on HBO Max starting September 1st, as per Warner Bros.’ schedule for the streaming service in the upcoming month. This aligns with earlier announcements made by Adult Swim regarding the release date of Season 8 on their streaming platform. It seems that the new season will also be available for streaming on Hulu at some point. So, fans can look forward to watching the latest episodes soon!
How to Watch Rick and Morty Season 8
Originally, Adult Swim announced that Season 8 of Rick and Morty would be available for streaming on both HBO Max and Hulu starting September 1st. However, it seems that Hulu’s upcoming releases for September do not include the new season. Although it appears that Season 8 is still expected to arrive on Hulu, given the initial announcement may have been updated since then. It’s essential to stay informed as we approach the launch date, as more fans will have the opportunity to watch the new episodes if they missed out earlier.
In spring this year, Season 8 of “Rick and Morty” premiered on Adult Swim, offering a distinctly unique viewing experience compared to Season 7. The new main voice actors, Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden, have grown more accustomed to their roles and have shared that they had the opportunity to explore more variations in the vocal nuances of their characters during this season, as opposed to merely mimicking what was previously done when they joined for Season 7. Their approach to their performances has significantly evolved.
What Changed With Rick and Morty Season 8?

Ian Cardoni, the new voice actor for Rick Sanchez, explained that we’re dealing with an alternate timeline due to the advancement of ‘Rick and Morty’ Season 7 in production. This meant that we had multiple recording sessions, each lasting several hours per week, to catch up and ensure timely delivery for the fans. Normally, it takes less time to record a show, but this season offered more flexibility for us to propose and suggest our lines.
Cardoni stated that Season 7 was incredibly fast-paced, while Season 8 allowed them more room to maneuver, each episode. This extra time felt like a precious luxury, he explained. Since they didn’t have much to compare it to, the extended period for Season 8 was particularly valuable, as it enabled greater creative freedom and offered more possibilities and paths for character development.
