After a period of two years since the public announcement of their divorce, Jwan offered an uncommon glimpse into how he and the twice Grammy-winning ex-partner navigate co-parenting their six-year-old daughter Lucia and five-year-old son Renn.

In an interview on September 2, the artist expressed that their relationship has been truly remarkable, “exceptionally wonderful”. They described it as a stable and peaceful shared parenting experience. They reside just 10 minutes apart, regularly communicating every other day, and they deeply cherish their children.

The 40-year-old remarked, ‘This has been quite an extraordinary life-like adventure, more like a lifestyle than just an experience.’

Reflecting on my time spent with Ricky, a father of vibrant 17-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino, has been nothing short of enlightening for me, serving as a mirror reflecting aspects of my own identity.

He went on to say that being a gay man in today’s society, bringing up these children, has been an incredible experience. Almost daily, he discusses with his kids about the diversity of families, helping them understand and fostering their awareness. This ongoing discussion is both informative for the kids and provides context for him as a parent.

But just because Jwan is learning as he goes along doesn’t mean he is dancing through the job.

He shared that the experience is both exhilarating and majestic, yet demanding and fulfilling simultaneously. At times, they provide nothing, while at other times, they offer everything abundantly.

He expressed a broad range of feelings, “It’s an entire palette of emotions,” he said. “This is the wildest adventure I’ve embarked on during my lifetime, and ever since I became a parent myself, I have held immense respect for my own parents.

While Jwan acknowledges that having children “isn’t suitable for everyone,” he underscored the significance of good parenting in shaping our future generations.
