The upcoming motorcycle racing game, RIDE 6, will have a completely revamped career mode and improved performance. In a recent interview, the developers at Milestone shared that the game will run at 4K resolution and a smooth 90 frames per second on the PlayStation 5 Pro.
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will run the racing game at 4K resolution with a smooth 60 frames per second. The Xbox Series S, which is the least powerful console, will run the game at 2K resolution and 60 FPS. Milestone, the game’s developer, has stated that they aren’t planning to release the game on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, and are instead focusing all their efforts on the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions.
Regarding the PS5 Pro, the studio stated that its increased power allows them to improve the game’s frame rate without sacrificing visual fidelity. They’re achieving this not by using the PS5’s PSSR technology, but by utilizing the Temporal Super Resolution (TSR) feature already built into Unreal Engine 5.
In RIDE 6, the traditional championship career mode is being replaced with a new system called RIDE Fest. This offers players much more freedom to choose the races and events they want to participate in. RIDE Fest features a wide range of events – from individual races to full championships and endurance challenges – all organized into themed areas. These areas are based on things like bike brands, bike types, different circuits, and even the weather, giving players a dynamic and customizable career experience.
RIDE Fest features 10 legendary motorcycle racers as the ultimate challenge at the end of each chapter. These racers offer distinct gameplay experiences – for instance, you’ll tackle road races against Guy Martin. The game’s central hub, called the paddock, is where you’ll begin all activities. You can also enjoy more relaxed options like socializing with other riders and customizing your bikes and gear.
RIDE 6 isn’t just adding a new career mode – it’s also introducing new bike types with the Maxi Enduro and Bagger categories. The game will launch with over 340 officially licensed motorcycles from 21 manufacturers, divided into 7 categories, each with unique events. Players will be able to race on more than 45 different track layouts set in real-world locations and fictional environments. Expect a variety of racing experiences, including challenging off-road events that require adapting to gravel and dirt surfaces at high speeds.
The motorcycle racing game, RIDE 6, will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 12th. Developed by Milestone, the game utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to deliver more realistic visuals and sounds, making the bikes incredibly lifelike.
