Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Baby No. 3 Name Is a Sweet Nod to Dad

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky found a new love.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have welcomed their third child, a baby boy named Rocki Irish Mayers, born on September 13th. The couple are also parents to sons RZA, age 3, and Riot, age 2.

The baby girl is named in honor of her father (born Rakim Mayers), who was known as Rocky before he became famous under that name.

Rihanna announced the arrival of her baby, Rocki, on Instagram on September 24th, sharing a photo of herself holding the newborn, who was dressed in a pink onesie and socks. She also posted a picture of small, pink boxing gloves, likely referencing the movie *Rocky*.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky first announced they were expecting a baby in May with a photo taken by Miles Diggs. Rihanna then publicly showed off her baby bump at the 2025 Met Gala, where A$AP Rocky, 36, helped host the event.

Okay, so his little girl is named after her dad, which is sweet, but you will NOT believe this! He actually *wanted* to name the baby Denzel Washington! Yes, *the* Denzel Washington! He said he’d have done it even if it was a boy! I mean, can you imagine?! It’s just… amazing. He’s clearly a huge fan, and honestly, same! It’s the most perfect name idea ever, and I’m still a little upset he didn’t go through with it, but hey, a girl named after her dad is cute too, I guess.

In a recent interview with *GQ*, published on September 22nd, the actor joked, “Denzel, no matter what. The moment a woman comes out with the name Denzel, that’s amazing. We’ll have solved a big problem.”

Although they chose Rocki over Denzel, it’s clear how devoted Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are to their kids.

The rapper behind “Sundress” told *GQ* that his family means everything to him. He shared, “I have so much love for my kids, and they fill my heart.”

The couple makes a point of not discussing work at home, preferring to focus on their sons and new baby instead.

He recently told *Elle* magazine that when he’s home, his priority is family – his relationships and his household. He doesn’t get caught up in anything else.

And for Rihanna, becoming a mother has completely changed how she sees the world. 

In a 2023 interview with *British Vogue*, she described motherhood as “legendary” and “everything.” She added that it’s amazing how quickly you forget what life was like before becoming a parent.
