With the BAFTA Film Awards almost here, the final list of nominees is out for one special category – the only one decided by viewers like you.
The EE Rising Star Award celebrates talented new actors who are making a big impact. Past winners include well-known names like Tom Holland, Daniel Kaluuya, and Letitia Wright, with David Jonsson receiving the award last year.
This year’s nominees are Robert Aramayo, known for his roles in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and the film I Swear, and Archie Madekwe, who recently starred in Saltburn and Lurker.
Okay, so alongside the main contenders, there’s also Posy Sterling, who I thought was fantastic in ‘Lollipop’. Miles Caton deserves a nod for his work in ‘Sinners’, and I was really impressed with Chase Infiniti in ‘One Battle After Another’ too – great performances all around!
You can vote for your favorite film here. The winner will be revealed at a ceremony held at London’s Royal Festival Hall on February 22nd, 2026.

Last year, Marisa Abela, Jharrel Jerome, Mikey Madison, and Nabhaan Rizwan were also nominated for the Rising Star award, along with Jonsson.
While the full list of nominees for the remaining BAFTA Film Awards categories hasn’t been revealed yet, a preliminary longlist was released last week.
This year’s longlist featured several films appearing in many categories, with ‘One Battle After Another’ leading at 16 mentions. ‘Sinners and Hamnet’ was nominated in 14 categories, followed by ‘Marty Supreme’ with 13, and both ‘Bugonia’ and Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ with 12 each.
The Golden Globe Awards for 2026 were presented this past weekend, marking a significant event in this year’s awards season.

At the Golden Globes, both ‘One Battle After Another’ and ‘Hamnet’ were major successes. Unlike the BAFTAs, which have separate ceremonies for film and television, the Golden Globes recognize both in a single event. On the TV side, ‘Adolescence’ was the standout winner.
The BAFTA Film Awards will take place at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 22nd February 2026.
