Ripple has finished its $1.25 billion purchase of Hidden Road, a company that sounds like it was named by a toddler with a dictionary. Now rebranded as Ripple Prime, it’s supposedly the first crypto company to own a global, multi-asset prime broker. Because nothing says “innovation” like buying a firm and renaming it after a coffee shop.
Ripple President Monica Long declared the “future ahead is mighty bright,” which is exactly what you’d expect from someone whose company just spent a quarter of a billion dollars on a business that’s basically a glorified middleman. But hey, at least they’re using XRP now. Because nothing says “trust” like putting your crypto in a broker’s hands.
Ripple Completes Hidden Road Deal
Hidden Road’s backbone, a platform that’s “fast-growing” in the same way a wildfire is “fast-growing.” Since Ripple bought it, business has tripled. Because nothing boosts morale like being acquired by a company that’s probably still figuring out what a “prime broker” even is.
Ripple Prime will now offer services like clearing, financing, and prime brokerage. Because if you can’t confuse people with jargon, what’s the point? They’ll even handle FX, derivatives, swaps, and digital assets. Because why not throw in a little chaos for good measure?
The opportunities now available to Ripple Prime (fka Hidden Road) are expansive. With $RLUSD already being used as collateral for a number of prime brokerage products, and Ripple Prime looking at a variety of ways to utilize XRP, the future ahead is mighty bright.

RLUSD Gains Institutional Footing
RLUSD, Ripple’s institutional stablecoin, is already being used as collateral. Because nothing says “trust” like a stablecoin that’s probably stable enough to be a mattress. BNY Mellon is the custodian, which is like saying “trust us, we’re professionals” while holding a spreadsheet.
Blockchain analytics firm Bluechip gave RLUSD an A rating. Because if a firm named “Bluechip” says it’s good, it must be. Trust the process, folks. Or at least the marketing.

Ripple’s Acquisition Push Strengthens Infrastructure
Ripple has completed five major acquisitions in two years. Because nothing says “we’re serious” like buying up companies faster than a toddler eats cereal. Now they’re expanding custody, payments, liquidity, and treasury capabilities. Because if you can’t confuse people with acronyms, what’s the point?
The moves aim to offer institutions a broader set of services. Because nothing says “we’re here to help” like a company that’s probably still figuring out what “institutional” means.
Ripple plans to use blockchain tools to streamline operations. Because if you can’t make something simpler, just call it “blockchain” and hope no one asks questions. The goal? Mesh payments, custody solutions, and stablecoin utility with prime brokerage functions. Because if it’s not complicated, it’s not worth doing.
With today’s close of Hidden Road (now Ripple Prime), Ripple has announced 5 major acquisitions in ~2 years (GTreasury last week, Rail in August, Standard Custody in 2024, Metaco in 2023). As we continue to build solutions towards enabling an Internet of Value – I’m reminding you…
– Brad Garlinghouse (@bgarlinghouse) October 24, 2025
Monica Long’s upbeat message came with concrete moves. Because nothing says “we’re serious” like buying a company and then pretending it’s a new idea. Reports suggest XRP might become useful to banks. Because if you can’t make it useful, just make it confusing.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has repeatedly emphasized the company’s commitment to XRP. Because if you can’t sell it, just keep repeating it. Now XRP is inside a wider set of services aimed at professional users. Because nothing says “professional” like a token that’s still trying to find its place.
Analysts are watching how quickly institutions adopt these new tools. Because if they don’t, Ripple will just keep buying more companies. XRP has been moving quietly, holding between $2.30 and $2.50. Because nothing says “stability” like a price that’s as exciting as a spreadsheet.
Crypto analysts predict a potential rally. Because if you can’t predict it, just say “potential.” XRP might reach $27. Because if you can’t make it happen, just say it’s “possible.”
