Similar to other media companies, game developers are increasingly using anime to attract audiences, as its popularity continues to grow.
Even though popular anime like Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen only recently received video game adaptations, Korean developer COM2US has already announced a PlayStation 5 game based on GACHIAKUTA.
While a release date hasn’t been announced, this game is thankfully not another arena fighter. The developer describes it as a “survival action RPG,” and it strongly resembles the Monster Hunter series.

As mentioned before, GACHIATUKA is a recent manga series, having only started in 2022. Despite being new, it has quickly grown to include an impressive 17 volumes.
Most pertinently, though, its anime premiered this summer, and aired its 24th episode this weekend.
The story focuses on the stark contrast between the wealthy and the poor. The rich send their unwanted problems – including criminals – to a remote, monster-filled place called The Pit, effectively exiling them.
When Rudo is wrongly accused of murder, he’s thrown into a dangerous place called The Pit. There, he reluctantly becomes a Cleaner, forced to fight off monstrous creatures and plot revenge against the rich people who live in luxury above him.
Details about the game are scarce, but it clearly has potential as an action game similar to Monster Hunter.
Here’s the summary shared by the dev:
Get ready for a game based on the popular anime GACHIAKUTA! Inspired by the manga by Kei Urana and featuring graffiti-style designs by Hideyoshi Andou, the game is currently in development. A first look at the in-game graphics is available in the trailer – stay tuned for more updates!
Okay, so it’s early days, but honestly, it’s a nice break from all the usual anime fighting games. It’s a refreshing change of pace!
Since we haven’t read the original story, we would have actually preferred if this adaptation had been more like the game Freedom Wars.
But if the game has good quality combat, we’re certainly open to learning more.
