Rob Schneider’s Happy Gilmore 2 Role Is Much Different Than We Thought It’d Be

To the astonishment of numerous viewers, former Saturday Night Live cast member and frequent collaborator with Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, made a surprise appearance in Happy Gilmore 2. Yet, Schneider’s part in the movie might not be what fans were anticipating. The recently released Netflix comedy, functioning as a continuation of the cherished 1996 film, follows Sandler’s Happy as he re-enters golf to finance his daughter’s ballet classes.

Just like numerous contemporary movies by Sandler, the film “Happy Gilmore 2” is brimming with cameos from stars such as Bad Bunny, Post Malone, and Travis Kelce. Notably, this extensive lineup includes several ex-cast members from SNL, who collaborated with Adam Sandler on the popular comedy sketch show. This has sparked speculation among fans about whether a familiar face like Rob Schneider might make an appearance.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that “Happy Gilmore 2” is now available for streaming on Netflix! Picking up the franchise’s underdog tale almost three decades after the original film, this new installment is directed by none other than Kyle Newacheck, creator of “Workaholics”. Adam Sandler reprises his role as Happy Gilmore, with familiar faces Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald returning. However, not every cast member from the first movie has made a comeback for this sequel. Some fresh additions to the film include Benny Safdie and professional golfer John Daly.

Is Rob Schneider In Happy Gilmore 2?

During the publicity tour for “Happy Gilmore 2,” it’s been generating a lot of buzz whether Rob Schneider, the ex-“SNL” actor, appears in the new Netflix comedy.

It appears that the actor from Grown Ups is indeed featured in the latest film, though perhaps not in a manner fans might anticipate.

In approximately 45 minutes of the follow-up to the golf movie, Schneider briefly makes an appearance. This quick cameo takes place when the character Happy is having his special moment, mirroring a scene from the original film.

When Sandler returns to the golf course after many years away, his mind drifts to his personal sanctuary, and he muses that perhaps it’s time for an upgrade to a more mature “Happy Place”.

This scene depicts him perched on a toilet, engrossed in a popular squirrel video, while a nurse indicates his low cholesterol levels. Meanwhile, Gilmore finds out he wears ‘Medium’ sized pants. Incidentally, Schneider is present as well, portrayed as a Dwarf Cowboy riding a tricycle in this particular moment.

As a devoted cinephile, I find it reminiscent of a scene from one of Sandler’s earlier films where his character repeats a similar action. It brings to mind another Dwarf Cowboy character, portrayed back then by Jared Van Snellenberg.

In the sequel of “Happy Gilmore 2,” it’s expected that viewers who watched the original will be taken aback by Schneider’s appearance, as he seems to be embodying a character reminiscent of Van Snellenberg from the first film.

Netflix unveiled a number of backstage pictures showcasing Schneider’s work during filming, highlighting his appearances on set.

Apart from Sandler and Schneider, another Saturday Night Live veteran, Jon Lovitz, took part in the film’s production. He portrayed a well-dressed gentleman taking swings at a golf driving range.

Lovitz didn’t star on the late-night comedy show alongside those actors when it originally aired, but over the years, he has developed close friendships with the comedy greats who were part of that series.

They’ve collaborated for the 21st time in a full-length movie, starting with their first joint appearance in “Airheads” from 1994.
