Robert Irwintried out a new look in the wild.
A wildlife conservationist grew a new mustache as a playful joke on his mother, Terri Irwin, and her reaction was absolutely priceless.
Robert shared a TikTok on January 3rd, showing off his beard and explaining he hadn’t shaved in a while. He’d had a week off from filming, but was returning to set and planned to play a joke on the crew.
The young man, 22 years old, was struggling to stop laughing as he carefully shaped his beard into a mustache he considered perfect.
He playfully imitated famous characters, including the pilot from Tom Cruise’s Top Gun and Ron Swanson from Parks & Recreation, complete with Nick Offerman’s signature mustache.
It was amazing seeing Robert arrive on set! Everyone immediately reacted with a mix of shock and playful teasing. His mom, Terri, was so proud, and she told him as only a mother could – it was a really sweet moment. Knowing how much his dad, Steve Irwin, meant to everyone made it even more special.
When asked if she was okay with her son keeping the new pet, Terri shook her head and said, with sarcasm, “Absolutely.”
Robert enjoys playfully teasing Terri, and this isn’t the first time he’s surprised her with a new look. Earlier, in September, the Dancing With the Stars winner shocked his mom and sister, Bindi Irwin, by performing energetic shirtless dances with his dance partner, Witney Carson.
He explained that he decided to take a risk. Speaking on the December 18th episode of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, he said he warned the team the idea was a bit daring, and they initially encouraged him to proceed. However, they later expressed surprise at how far he’d gone.
Robert explained his unexpected choice, saying, “Honestly, life is too short not to do what makes you happy. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying yourself, and I had a lot of fun with it.”
