Robert Pattinson recently teased his “incredible” experience filming Dune 3.

I’m so excited for Dune: Part Three – it’s going to wrap up Denis Villeneuve’s incredible sci-fi story! And Robert Pattinson is going to be in it, which is amazing. While they’re keeping his character a secret, everyone’s speculating he might be playing Scytale, the villain. I really hope that’s true – he’d be perfect for the role!

I was so fascinated to hear about Robert Pattinson’s time working on Dune 3! He didn’t say much about what he specifically did, but he was incredibly enthusiastic about the whole experience and how special it was to be a part of the project. It sounded like a truly one-of-a-kind set.

Pattinson told GQ that his job offers experiences unlike any other. He described feeling like he was going through things that very few people, throughout history, have or will ever go through, calling it an amazing feeling.

Working with Zendaya again was fantastic – she’s back as Chani, and we’d previously collaborated on both Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama. It’s funny, but it wasn’t until I was actually on set with her that it really hit me: ‘Wow, we’re making Dune!’ It was a pretty surreal moment.

Pattinson described filming Dune in the desert as a strange experience. He remembered realizing they were actually making the movie while shooting his first scene with Zendaya. He said it truly felt like they were in the world of Dune, and it was a lot of fun.

Timothée Chalamet returns as Paul Atreides in the next Dune movie, Dune: Part Three. The film will be set 15 to 20 years after the events of the previous installment. Joining the cast are Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa as Leto II Atreides, and Ida Brooke as Ghanima Atreides.

Denis Villeneuve is directing the third Dune film, which he wrote with Jon Spaihts. It’s based on Frank Herbert’s 1969 novel, Dune Messiah.

Dune: Part Three is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2026.
