Robert Pattinson has transformed his career since first becoming famous as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga. Over the past decade, he’s proven himself to be a talented and respected actor, starring in both critically praised independent films like The Lighthouse and big-budget hits like The Batman. With exciting new projects on the horizon, including Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and A24’s The Drama, fans can currently watch one of Pattinson’s lesser-known but excellent crime thrillers on HBO Max – but only for two more days.
Calling Good Time ‘underrated’ doesn’t even begin to cover it. This 2017 crime thriller is a genuinely brilliant and overlooked modern classic, and it’s leaving HBO Max soon. Directed by Josh and Benny Safdie, the film stars Robert Pattinson as a petty criminal who goes on a wild, desperate night in New York City to get his brother, who has developmental disabilities, out of jail. You only have until February 28th to stream it.
Robert Pattinson’s Good Time Is An Anxiety-Inducing Thriller You Need To See
Critics and viewers have called Good Time a relentlessly stressful experience, and it’s easy to see why. The movie is brilliantly made to create intense anxiety and keep you on the edge of your seat. Directors the Safdies perfectly capture the frantic energy and claustrophobic feel of New York City, using striking visuals and a driving electronic score. While it’s definitely a tense watch, Good Time is highly recommended, particularly for Robert Pattinson’s performance. He delivers a career-defining role as a desperate criminal, proving his talent extends far beyond his earlier work and showcasing his impressive range as an actor.
As a big fan of Robert Pattinson, I truly believe Good Time is one of his very best films. It’s incredibly well-regarded, scoring a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating with 91% from critics and 82% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. That makes it one of his highest-rated movies on the site – critics put it at number 3, and audiences at number 6! It’s a shame though, because despite all the praise, it didn’t get any Oscar nominations, which felt like a major oversight.
Where to Stream Good Time After It Leaves HBO Max?
As a film buff, I wanted to give you a heads-up: time is running out to watch Good Time on HBO Max! It’s only available with a subscription right now, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be sticking around on other major streaming services anytime soon – at least not according to the March 2026 lineups. If it disappears from streaming, you’ll still be able to rent or buy it digitally, and hopefully it’ll come back someday. But if you’ve been meaning to see it, now’s the time!
