Costume designers for the upcoming movie, The Batman 2, recently discussed the design of Batman’s suit. With the film set to release in one year, excitement surrounding the Robert Pattinson movie is building. For the past year, fans have been speculating about the plot and characters, adding to the already strong anticipation. The first Batman film, which premiered in March 2022, received mostly positive reviews and was a box office hit.
The Batman 2 costume designers ‘can’t talk about’ potential new batsuit
In a recent discussion on his podcast, On Designing Hollywood, Robert Meyer Burnett spoke with costume designers David Crossman and Glyn Dillon (who are working on costumes for The Batman 2). He asked them if audiences would see changes to Batman’s suit in the next film.
Dillon hesitated when asked about something, saying, “I don’t think we can talk about that,” but then laughed as Burnett insisted on knowing. They did reassure him that the script was “really good.”
One of the most talked-about aspects of the upcoming Batman sequel is its script. Robert Pattinson, who recently finished promoting his film The Drama, said the screenplay is “so good” and that he’d start preparing for The Batman 2 immediately.
This comes after the actor described the film as “extraordinary” in an interview with Deadline, hinting it will be a significant departure from the previous installment, taking “big risks” with its storytelling.
I’m so excited for the sequel, and hearing Colin Farrell talk about the script makes me even more so! He’s going to be fantastic as the Penguin again, and he said the script was ‘tasty stuff’ – that really got me hyped! It sounds like everyone involved is really proud of what they’re creating.
James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios and producer of the upcoming Batman movie directed by Andy Muschietti, gave a positive response to the script. The film will include Damian Wayne as Robin. When asked about it by Screenrant, Gunn simply said, “It’s great.”
The next Batman movie is scheduled to come out on October 1, 2027. It was pushed back several times so that director Matt Reeves and writer Mattson Tomlin could finish the script and make sure the film was the best it could be.
Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright are likely to return as Alfred Pennyworth and James Gordon, joining Colin Farrell and Robert Pattinson. Sebastian Stan, known for his roles in Marvel films, is reportedly playing Harvey Dent, the Gotham City district attorney who eventually becomes the villain Two-Face. Scarlett Johansson, another Marvel star, has also signed on to the movie, though her character hasn’t been revealed yet.
