Robin Williams’ Daughter Begs Fans to Stop Sending AI Videos of Her Dad

Zelda Williams, daughter of the late Robin Williams, has asked fans on Instagram to stop sharing AI-generated videos of her father. These videos, created without permission, are upsetting to her. Williams, a director known for ‘Lisa Frankenstein,’ has previously voiced concerns about AI technology and its impact on the entertainment industry, but continues to see unwanted content circulating, prompting her to reiterate her disapproval.

Zelda publicly asked people to stop sending her AI-generated videos of her late father, sharing her plea on Instagram Stories, according to Variety. She explained she doesn’t want to see them and won’t understand them, and warned that while trolling her won’t bother her, she’ll block those who continue. More importantly, she asked people to consider the impact on her, her father’s memory, and everyone involved, stating the videos are pointless, a waste of effort, and not what her father would have wanted.

She expressed frustration with the trend of digitally recreating people – often historical figures – for short-form video content, calling it a disrespectful simplification. She argued that these recreations aren’t artistic creations, but rather a harmful exploitation of real lives and artistic history, motivated by a desire for online validation. She described it as turning meaningful legacies into something cheap and unappetizing, simply to gain likes and approval, which she found deeply offensive.
