Announcement has been made by both Snail Games USA and Finish Line Games: the action-RPG titled “Robots At Midnight” will debut on PlayStation 5 on August 28th. Previously, it was initially launched on Steam and Xbox platforms back in June with a retro-futuristic theme.
In this game, you assume the role of Zoe as she embarks on a journey to find her father on the once-luxurious but now ruined planet of Yob. A planet-wide power failure has caused the robots inhabiting the planet to become aggressive. Throughout your adventure, you’ll encounter corrupted groups, confront enormous bosses, and uncover secrets about Yob’s mysterious past.
Zoe’s primary tool is the “MITT,” a versatile space-glove that was initially designed for exploration but has been adapted for combat purposes. It possesses the capability to unleash super-strength punches, electromagnetic bursts, intensified laser shots, and swift propulsion. With a combat style focused on momentum, Zoe can catapult off enemies, soar through the skies, and crush robots with panache.
The game presents two levels of complexity: Hero Mode emphasizes the narrative and discovery, making it ideal for those just starting with soul-like games. On the other hand, Master Mode offers a tough battle encounter for experienced gamers.
Daniel Posner, one of the co-founders at Finish Line Games, shared that they have a fondness for “soulslike action,” but they yearned for a lively, bright environment rather than the common dark and dreary setting. He’s excitedly looking forward to PlayStation players getting a taste of this unique experience.
Robots At Midnight launches on PS5 August 28. It is already available on Steam and Xbox.
