Rock Band 4 will no longer be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store starting October 5th. This is because the licenses for the original songs in the game are running out, as explained by the game’s developer, Harmonix.
Rock Band 4 first launched for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 6, 2015.
Here is the full message from Harmonix on the delisting:
Hey Everyone,
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, Rock Band 4 turns 10. What a ride it’s been.
So, we’ve hit a bit of a milestone with Rock Band 4, but unfortunately, that means a pretty big change is coming. The original licenses for the music in the core game are expiring, and because of that, the game will be removed from the PlayStation and Xbox digital stores. Don’t worry if you already own it though-you’ll still have full access! You’ll be able to download the game and any songs you have to any new devices that are compatible. And the same goes for any DLC we’ve released – songs will be removed from the store after they reach their 10-year anniversary, but anything you’ve already purchased will stay safely in your library!
We are incredibly thankful for the enthusiasm this community has demonstrated. It’s been a rewarding experience for our team to provide you with Rivals challenges, a vast library of downloadable content, and what we believe is the best band simulation game available. If you’ve been wanting to purchase any additional songs, now is a great opportunity. Thank you once again.
—The Rock Band Team
