Rod Stewart, 80, shares sweet snap of lookalike sons Alistair, 19, and Aidan, 14, proudly supporting their ‘old dad’ as he takes to the stage at Glastonbury

Sir Rod Stewart posted a heartwarming photo of his resemblance-laden sons, Alistair and Aidan, admiring as he performed on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury Festival during the Legends timeframe on Sunday.

The 80-year-old musician, who is married to Penny Lancaster, 54, posted a picture on Instagram showing the young men grinning broadly from the crowd.

During the performance, Aidan, who is 14 years old, perched atop his older brother Alistair’s shoulders. Meanwhile, Alistair, who is 19, sported a jersey from Aidan’s father’s favorite Celtics football team, draped around his neck.

Eight-children father, Rod, titled the photo: ‘Two cherished offspring at Glastonbury Festival are offering their elderly dad encouragement. Alastair and Aiden, I appreciate you both so much!!’

The artist behind the popular song “Maggie May” is also a father to daughters Sarah (age 61), Kimberly (age 45), Ruby (age 37), Renee (age 33) as well as sons Sean (age 44) and Liam (age 30).

On the last day of a festival marked by dispute, Rod delivered a performance where he expressed his personal political viewpoint.

Over the weekend, the punk duo Bob Vylan initiated a shout of “death to the IDF,” which drew criticism from Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who deemed it abhorrent. This action also sparked an investigation by the police.

The UK’s self-styled “most violent band” voiced the phrase “free, free Palestine” and asserted “from the river to the sea, Palestine…will be free,” a statement that is interpreted by many in the Jewish community as advocating for Israel’s destruction.

On the very same day, I, a devoted supporter and vocalist of the contentious Irish group Kneecap, incited the gathering to take action outside Westminster Magistrates Court, expressing my call to “riot” when our bandmate Liam O’hAnnaidh’s terror-related charges resurface in August.

At her performance, the popular artist JADE rallied the audience to voice their disapproval collectively with chants of “I disagree” directed at issues such as reform stagnation, welfare reductions, transphobia, muzzling demonstrations, arms sales, and justification of genocide.

However, during his performance at Worthy Farm on Sunday, Rod, previously expressing support for Reform in an interview with The Times, delivered a contrasting message. He paid tribute to Ukraine and addressed the ongoing strife in the Middle East by dedicating a song to both issues.

The singer dedicated a rendition of The O’Jays’ 1972 hit “Love Train” to the eastern European nation, in the midst of its current conflict with Russia.

In a different context, Rod spoke to the audience: “Recently, there’s been much discussion on the Middle East, and it’s well deserved. However, for the upcoming song, let me shift your focus towards Ukraine. It’s titled ‘The Love Train.’

The musician known for “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” has entered politics, following his call for voters to consider Nigel Farage’s new party, while expressing dissatisfaction with both Sir Keir and the Conservative Party.

Specifically, he strongly disapproved of the Prime Minister’s action to halt fishing in Scotland and return it to the EU, expressing that such a move has not endeared him to many people.

He also thinks the nation is fed up with the Tories.

The renowned rock figure expressed: “It’s worth considering Farage. He presents himself nicely. As for alternatives, who else do we have? I’ve met some of his relatives, even his brother, and I find him appealing.

Additionally, he clarified that despite his substantial wealth, he believes he remains connected to everyday individuals.

Inquired about Mr. Farage’s stance beyond Brexit, immigration, and contentious economic proposals, he responded: “Sure, sure. However, Starmer is focused on taking us out of Brexit, and I’m unsure of his strategy for achieving that.

‘Still, the country will survive. It could be worse. We could be in the Gaza Strip.’

His current stance is a complete turnaround, as he seemed to favor Labour during the previous year’s election, even though he had previously supported the Conservatives.

Sir Rod also seemed unconvinced Sir Keir was going to fully address one of his personal pet hates.

3 years back, the musician was spotted wearing a high-visibility jacket as he made phone calls to gather assistance from his friends to fill in pavement cracks outside his residence in Essex.

He stated, “I drove my Ferrari and almost lost control of a wheel.” Before setting off in the Ferrari, he noticed an ambulance immobilized, with its wheel jammed inside it.

I recently treated my friends to an impromptu street renovation project! You see, I had some construction work going on at home, so I put those skills to good use. We filled quite a stretch of the road with gravel and materials, turning our outing into an unconventional team-building activity.

He added that potholes were still present ‘all over Britain’ in contrast to Europe.

Following the investigation initiated by the police regarding the remarks made by Bob Vylan during his performance yesterday afternoon, where he led cries of ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Down with the IDF’, Rod subsequently shared his political stance.

The anonymous band member proclaimed that “from the river to the sea,” Palestine will achieve freedom.

The BBC also expressed their thoughts on the incident involving Bob Vylan, stating that certain remarks made during his performance were extremely disrespectful.

During this live broadcast on iPlayer, language that was extremely offensive and discriminatory was cautioned about on-screen.

‘We have no plans to make the performance available on demand.’

As an ardent fan here, let me share some insights: Recently, I’ve been utterly hooked on the Irish language rap trio, Kneecap. However, they weren’t live-streamed by the BBC, which is quite unusual for my taste. Yet, there’s a stir in the air, as figures like Keir Starmer and Kemi Badenoch have voiced their opinions, even calling for the group to be removed from the lineup, following charges against one member concerning a terror-related offense. Quite intriguing times we’re living in!

27-year-old front rapper of the group, known as Mo Chara or O’Hanna in the music industry, is currently out on bail without conditions, following accusations that he was involved in backing Hezbollah, an organization officially classified as a terrorist group.
