Rod Stewart kicks off Glastonbury Legends slot by dedicating cover of The O’Jays hit Love Train to Ukraine as he plays to huge crowd at Worthy Farm

At the iconic Glastonbury festival, Rod Stewart graced the stage during the Legend time-slot, performing to a vast audience at the Pyramid Stage.

Striding onto the stage accompanied by a large band and backup singers dressed in mini outfits, while the sound of bagpipes filled the air, Sir Rod addressed the crowd of thousands: “Alright, Alright! Welcome everyone, have a great time!

To begin his performance, he launched into his popular song “Tonight I’m Yours,” then shared with the crowd that music unites us all and we were there to celebrate, transitioning smoothly into the upbeat track “Let’s Have a Good Time.

Taking a moment to catch his breath and take off his shimmering jacket amidst the scorching heat, he expressed his delight and excitement to the crowd by saying, “This is absolutely wonderful! I’m almost bursting with excitement!

Recently, there’s been much focus on the Middle East, and justifiably so. However, allow me to steer your attention towards Ukraine with our upcoming song, titled ‘The Love Train’!

Just prior to his performance, Rod’s wife, Penny Lancaster, made her way to the Glastonbury festival to show her support for him.

Her sons, Alistair (age 19) in a leopard-print coat ready for his dad’s performance, and younger brother Aiden (age 14), were by her side.

The 54-year-old leader, with a distinctly bohemian style, donned a tasseled jacket, large sunglasses, voluminous pants resembling balloons, and carried a leopard-patterned handbag.

Yesterday, the 80-year-old vocalist’s afternoon tea time arrived following his statement expressing frustration with the Conservatives and suggesting that Labour aims to rescind Brexit.

The individual alleged that Prime Minister Keir Starmer was returning Scottish fishing rights to the EU, but the government maintains that they have only extended a previous arrangement for European vessels.

His current stance seems to be a significant change of direction, as he initially supported the Conservatives but gave the impression of being on Labor’s side during last year’s election.

Inquired about the current direction of British politics, he responded to The Times: “It’s challenging for me since I’m quite affluent, and I believe I rightfully earned this wealth, so many aspects of it don’t significantly impact me.

However, just because I may not fully support certain decisions, like Starmer’s move to end fishing in Scotland and return it to the EU, doesn’t make me oblivious or unaware. This action hasn’t exactly boosted his popularity, as you might expect.

We’re tired of the Conservatives. Should we consider giving Farage a try? He seems to be doing well in public. What other choices do we have? I have some acquaintance with his family, even his brother, and I find him likable.

Inquired about Mr. Farage’s beliefs beyond Brexit, tighter immigration, and questionable economic pledges, he responded casually: “Sure, sure. However, Starmer is focusing on taking us out of Brexit, and I’m unsure of his strategy for accomplishing that.

‘Still, the country will survive. It could be worse. We could be in the Gaza Strip.’

It appeared that Sir Rod had doubts whether Sir Keir would effectively tackle one of Sir Rod’s deep-seated annoyances in full.

3 years ago, the musician was spotted wearing a high-visibility jacket, making phone calls to rally friends together to assist him in patching up potholes on the street outside his residence in Essex.

‘I took me Ferrari out. Nearly lost the f***ing wheel,’ he said.

Prior to driving my Ferrari, I noticed an ambulance with a wheel jammed in it.

‘So I took me mates out, and we knew what to do because I had builders in the house.

‘We filled in a considerable length of the road, actually.’

He added that potholes were still present ‘all over Britain’ in contrast to Europe.
