Following the launch of Romeo is a Dead Man, Goichi Suda, head of Grasshopper Manufacture (also known as Suda51), announced plans for another surprise game release later this year. During a brief online presentation, Suda admitted there’s a small possibility the second game might be delayed, but stated it’s ‘almost’ guaranteed to arrive this year.
We have some exciting news! We’re almost certain to release another game in 2026. We don’t have details on what the game will be or when we’ll officially announce it just yet. But we’re hoping to share more information soon, so stay tuned to our events, social media, and videos. We’ll have a big announcement for you as soon as we can – please keep watching for updates!
During the same video, Suda also mentioned plans for a physical copy of Romeo is a Dead Man and a version for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. He explained that Grasshopper Manufacture has received many requests for both, and they’re currently discussing potential partnerships to make it happen. He stated that a physical release will be officially confirmed once a deal is signed.
Fans have been asking for a physical copy of the game, which we’re calling a ‘physical version’ internally. We’re actively discussing options with different companies to make it a reality and are working hard to get it done. We’ll share an announcement as soon as everything is confirmed, so thank you for your patience. The same goes for a potential version on the Switch 2 – we’re exploring possibilities and ask for a little more time to figure things out.
I just got my hands on Romeo is a Dead Man! It came out a few hours ago on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The developers, Grasshopper Manufacture, dropped a trailer yesterday that really showed off their signature weird and funny style. I remember when they first announced the game way back in June 2025 – that first trailer gave us a little taste of the story to come, and I’ve been excited ever since!
The character Romeo was initially written to die, but now survives thanks to a device implanted in his head. This device not only saves his life but also gives him the ability to fight demons and start his own battles. A detailed blog post last August revealed more about the story and gameplay, confirming Romeo’s codename is DeadMan, and that he works with a special FBI division called the Space-Time Police.
I recently checked out Romeo is a Dead Man and wrote a full review. I gave it a 6 out of 10 – you can read all my thoughts there if you’re curious!
