Rose of Nevada trailer drops….

BFI Distribution has released the trailer and poster for “Rose of Nevada,” the latest film from acclaimed Cornish director Mark Jenkin. The time-traveling story stars George MacKay (known for “1917”) and Callum Turner (from “The Boys in the Boat”).

What’s the Rose of Nevada trailer about?

The sudden reappearance of the Rose of Nevada, a fishing boat lost at sea with all its crew thirty years prior, in a quiet Cornish village is seen as an omen by those who remember the tragedy. Locals believe the boat must sail again to restore good fortune to the struggling village. Nick, a young father needing to support his family, and Liam, a mysterious man running from his past, both sign on with Captain Murgey for a fishing trip. When they return with a good catch, they discover something strange: they’ve traveled back in time to 1993, and the villagers believe they are the boat’s original crew.

Behind the scenes…..

Following his critically acclaimed films Bait (2019) and Enys Men (2022), Mark Jenkin presents Rose of Nevada. Jenkin is distinctive among British filmmakers for his hands-on, analogue approach – he personally writes, directs, films, edits, designs the sound, and composes the music for his projects. Like his previous features, Rose of Nevada was filmed in Cornwall using a vintage Bolex camera and 16mm film, with all dialogue and sound effects added in post-production.

When can you see the film?

The film first premiered internationally at the Venice International Film Festival in August 2025, and then had its UK debut as part of the official competition at the BFI London Film Festival. It will be in UK and Irish cinemas from April 24th, 2026, and will become available on Blu-ray and through the BFI Player the following summer.

The film Rose of Nevada will be in UK and Irish cinemas from April 24th, 2026. Before the release, the director will be touring the UK for three weeks, answering questions about the film at various cinemas – details of the tour dates and locations will be announced in March.
