Today, a collection of previews for the upcoming Silent Hill F have been unveiled, sharing the perspectives of different gaming outlets after playing for five hours. The feedback has been predominantly enthusiastic, hinting that this new installment in the series will continue the narrative from where Silent Hill 2 ended, promising another top-notch survival horror adventure. Here are some impressions about Silent Hill F.
IGN
To date, it appears that Silent Hill f is shaping up to be an exceptional horror game. If, like myself, you found the Silent Hill 2 remake among your top games of 2024, Silent Hill f could potentially challenge for Game of the Year when it launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 25th.

In the initial five hours of gameplay, I find myself brainstorming theories, highlighting and marking important points in my notepad. Although I might have some reservations about the combat, which seems a bit excessive, there’s still room for improvement before release. Adjustments can be made, and in typical Silent Hill fashion, I can manage by fighting and hoping for the best. However, when it comes to the overall ambiance and eerie feel, Silent Hill offers a rich, luxurious experience – I’m eagerly looking forward to venturing further into the fog and attempting to decipher its mysterious meanings.
Polygon
In the new installment of the Silent Hill series, titled Silent Hill f, you’ll find many classic elements reminiscent of the franchise, such as a relatable protagonist, atmospheric fog that hides lurking dangers, and formidable boss battles against grotesque creatures mirroring the hero’s inner turmoil. However, Silent Hill f doesn’t merely rehash familiar elements to maintain the series identity; instead, it offers refreshing twists on a setting that has evolved over 25 years, accompanied by engaging gameplay mechanics. With Konami and NeoBards at the helm, it seems we may be in store for another compelling modern Silent Hill experience, which will send shivers down our spines soon.
Game Informer
It’s truly heartening to witness the Silent Hill series thriving once more, with Silent Hill F showing promising signs of being a robust addition that continues the positive trajectory set by last year’s exceptional Silent Hill 2 remake.
