Forza Horizon 5 was a fantastic open-world racing game when it came to PlayStation 5, even though it had a lot of unnecessary content.
Great news for PlayStation fans! Forza Horizon 6 is coming to PS5 just a few months after its release on Xbox and PC in May. It seems like the game will offer a brand new experience for everyone.
Even more excitingly, things are looking really good! That’s based on recent previews from journalists who’ve had a chance to try it out.
Everyone is really impressed with the latest racing game from Playground Games. It’s set in Japan and features a completely new way to play and progress through the game.
Most people feel the driving experience is consistent with previous models – it’s smooth, enjoyable, and easy to learn.
The game’s map is receiving the most praise, with many previews highlighting its beautiful Japanese setting. Similar to previous Forza Horizon titles, it’s not a complete recreation of Japan, but rather a curated selection of iconic locations, including the city of Tokyo and winding mountain roads perfect for drifting.
Players seem to be enjoying the new game structure. You now unlock access to better cars and increased speed by progressing through the festival’s events and ranking up. You can also make progress just by exploring the game world and enjoying the scenery.
For fans of the Forza Horizon series, the next installment looks fantastic. PlayStation 5 owners, now is a great time to get excited!
Game Informer: “Captured the beauty of Japan”
Driving in the latest Forza Horizon feels as amazing as you’d expect. The game’s physics and how it simulates different surfaces are top-notch, just like previous games in the series, and the sense of speed is incredible. I really enjoyed my brief preview, especially with Japan as the setting.
GamesRadar: “Set to become one of the best racing games of the generation”
Racing through the streets of Tokyo at night is an incredible experience. Headlights blur as you speed through the city, the roar of tires filling the air. My Honda S2000 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds, and the responsive controller vibrates as I push it past 160 mph, skillfully drifting around corners. A computer-controlled opponent is close behind, dodging traffic. This is open-world racing taken to a whole new level.
IGN: “I just can’t get enough of it”
I’ve always loved the feeling of exploring a virtual world, and Forza Horizon 6 delivers that perfectly. I was hesitant to explore the map fully before the game’s official release, but I quickly became captivated by how immersive the Japanese setting is. I can’t stop wanting to drive around and discover everything – every road seems to lead to something new and exciting.
VGC: “A wealth of jaw-dropping environments to discover”
Based on the portion of the game I’ve played, it has the potential to be one of the best racing games of the year. I’ll share a full review closer to the release date, but right now, it looks like it could surpass Forza Horizon 5 and become the top open-world racing game available.
