After first airing over ten years ago, Rufus Sewell’s science fiction show, The Man in the High Castle, is now available to watch on Netflix in the UK.
This alternate history story, inspired by Philip K. Dick’s 1962 novel, imagines a world where Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan won World War II and now rule the United States. A woman finds hope and begins to fight back after discovering a strange film that shows a different reality.
Alexa Davalos leads the cast of this science fiction series, which aired on Prime Video from 2015 to 2019. The show also features Rupert Evans, Luke Kleintank, DJ Qualls, Joel de la Fuente, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and Rufus Sewell.

In 2019, when the show’s fourth season was announced as its final one, producer Isa Dick Hackett (and the author’s daughter) told Deadline that the story seemed to predict the future.
She felt this was the perfect moment to adapt this anti-fascist story. Given the current climate, she and the show’s team recognized the importance of discussing the dangers of fascism now.

I was really curious if there was any chance the show could continue, and David Zucker, one of the executive producers, hinted at it. He said it’s exciting to consider what stories they might tell in the future, which definitely gives me hope!
It remains to be seen if these stories will be fully revealed to audiences now, or if they’ll surface in future movies and TV shows. But given the ongoing nature of these narratives, this isn’t likely to be a definitive ending.
The Man in the High Castle is available to stream on Netflix.
