Rumor About Doctor Strange’s Avengers: Doomsday Role Offers Connection To Multiverse Of Madness (And I Hope It’s Legit)

The next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, is about a year away, and details are scarce beyond the fact that Robert Downey Jr. will play the villain, Doctor Doom. A new rumor suggests how Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will be involved, and if it’s true, it would bring back a character from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that fans have been eager to see return.

Doctor Strange’s Doomsday Status Has Been Unclear

There’s been a lot of uncertainty about whether Doctor Strange would be in Avengers: Doomsday. Benedict Cumberbatch first said he wouldn’t be in the movie, but then later said he would be. However, when the full cast list was released, his name wasn’t on it.

As a huge movie fan, I’ve been following all the casting news, and it felt really weird leaving Benedict Cumberbatch off the announcements when he’d already hinted he’d be in the film! It just didn’t make sense as a ‘surprise.’ But now, according to The Cosmic Circus, it sounds like Doctor Strange will be showing up, and he won’t be alone – he’s bringing someone with him!

Doctor Strange Could Appear In Doomsday Alongside Clea

Okay, so at the very end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, things got seriously weird. Remember that post-credits scene? This woman shows up, basically telling Strange he’s got a huge mess to clean up because of all the multiversal stuff he’s been doing. Then, without any warning, she just rips open a hole in reality and pulls him right through with her! It totally left me wondering where they were going and what was going to happen next.

Charlize Theron played the character, who was identified in the credits as Clea – a well-known ally of Doctor Strange in the Marvel comics. According to reports, Doctor Strange will continue to work with Clea in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, where they’ll be investigating and trying to fix dangerous tears in the multiverse to prevent its destruction.

It’s always best to be skeptical of rumors, but I’m really hoping this one is true. A lot of comic book fans were thrilled about Clea’s potential appearance, but I was most excited by the possibility of Charlize Theron joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’d love to see her character play a bigger role in the next Avengers movie.

Even if the reports are true, it’s still unknown how significant Doctor Strange and Clea will be in Avengers: Doomsday. Many fans are hoping the first trailer for the movie will arrive soon, possibly before or with the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash next week. Hopefully, that trailer will give us a better idea of their roles.
