A fresh whisper circulates that Sacha Baron Cohen’s character Mephisto might reappear in future Marvel productions following his debut in Ironheart. This villainous figure, one of Marvel’s largest antagonists, was introduced in the final episode of Ironheart, sparking great enthusiasm among fans. Previous rumors have hinted at Cohen playing Mephisto, although this has not been officially confirmed until his unexpected appearance in the miniseries.
Mephisto rumored to return in 3 Marvel projects
A well-known source from Hollywood has leaked information indicating that Sacha Baron Cohen’s character, Mephisto, might reappear in additional Marvel movies.
On their previous platform (previously known as Twitter), MyTimeToShineHello announced that the character Mephisto is expected to appear in three upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe productions. Nevertheless, at this moment, Marvel Studios hasn’t disclosed any specific plans concerning Mephisto.
Anticipation for Mephisto’s debut has sparked excitement among fans, who are eagerly waiting to witness Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is due to the fact that Ghost Rider obtained his powers by striking a deal with the devil. In addition, whispers suggest that Marvel is attempting to cast Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider. However, these are merely rumors, and nothing has been verified yet.
In a recent conversation with Marvel.com, Showrunner Chinaka Hodge shared insights on the potential introduction of Mephisto in Ironheart. He expressed that collaborating with Sacha Baron Cohen, known for his exceptional acting and comedic skills, was a delightful surprise throughout this project. Cohen is meticulous about avoiding repetition and ensuring his portrayal remains true to character while still being unique and fresh. As a result, according to Hodge, we can expect an unprecedented Mephisto.
Hodge finds it interesting that the actor switches between an accent when initially interacting with Parker, Anthony’s character, and speaking without an accent when portraying a more threatening role. He considers the use of an American accent as a brilliant decision.
