As a huge Ace Combat fan, I’m seriously hyped for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve! Everything I’ve seen so far suggests it’s going to be one of the best games of 2026, and it looks like we’re all in for a fantastic experience.
Bandai Namco revealed the newest installment in their fast-paced fighter jet series at The Game Awards 2025, but details have been scarce since then.
Sharp-eyed fans have noticed some updates on the game’s Steam page that suggest some exciting new features are on the way.
Recent updates to the Steam page for AC8, as tracked by SteamDB, suggest a closed network test is planned. The data also includes references to “Ace Combat Online,” which could be the name for the game’s online multiplayer section.
Even more excitingly, there’s also talk about Ace Combat Zero, a beloved classic from the PlayStation 2 and a fan favorite within the Ace Combat series.
Some believe this game might be a free bonus for those who pre-order the next Assassin’s Creed game, AC8. Bandai Namco has done something similar before, offering a remastered version of Ace Combat 5 as a pre-order incentive for Ace Combat 7.
It appears the next game in the series will have an online beta test before it comes out, and pre-ordering might get you a free copy of Ace Combat Zero.
Both of these possibilities seem likely, but we’ll need to wait for Bandai Namco to confirm. We’re hoping for an official announcement about Armored Core 8 soon, especially since the game is scheduled to come out this year.
We’re planning a beta test for AC8 soon – would you be interested in trying it out? Also, would you consider pre-ordering if it came with a copy of AC Zero? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
