When is Starfield coming to PS5? And, whisper it, does anyone even care anymore?
Absolutely! Although it may not have achieved the Skyrim-like level of popularity that Bethesda might have aimed for, it’s widely appreciated as a good game. There’s no doubt it will continue to attract players on PlayStation.
But it looks like you may have to wait until next year at this point.
According to MP1st, despite not providing specific sources, they claim that poor sales of the first expansion Shattered Space (rated 62 on Metacritic) have caused concern for the publisher. They are reportedly delaying the port of the RPG to Sony’s system until the release of its next DLC, which is expected in Spring 2026.
It’s understandable to relaunch the game with a significant update and rebrand the title at the same time, given that there’s no urgent need to release the game on PlayStation 5 immediately.
As a gamer, I’ve got to share some insider info: Don’t hold your breath for any major announcements at Gamescom this year. Given the current situation, it seems like we might not need a full-blown marketing campaign right away.
Perhaps next year will be the year we see more Microsoft games on PS5, given their recent success with titles like Forza Horizon 5. This development aligns with our expectations since it has been reported that Microsoft is planning to release even more games for the PS5 platform.
