As a dedicated fan, I’m buzzing with excitement about the latest tweaks to Starfield, which could potentially signal significant upgrades, possibly even before or coinciding with its highly anticipated launch on the PlayStation 5 – a rumor we’ve been swirling around for quite some time now.
By closely examining the game’s title code, enthusiastic players have found repeated references to ‘Cruise’ in connection with space exploration. It seems that Bethesda might be developing an enhanced method for moving spaceships between planets, a feature that has been a significant point of criticism up until now due to its absence.
There have been numerous rumors circulating about significant changes in Starfield for quite some time, but since there hasn’t been much solid proof, many people view these rumors as optimistic speculations. Generally speaking, the sci-fi RPG isn’t a poor game; it just hasn’t managed to meet the high expectations set for it initially.
Despite the silence from Bethesda, it’s challenging not to suspect they’ve been working on something secretive. Their first expansion, Shattered Space, was released in October of last year and was met with criticism by both press and players. There seems to be a growing expectation for the developer to make improvements, especially if they aim to leave a mark on PS5.
The most recent updates indicate that the PlayStation 5 will likely become available next year. Additionally, the second expansion for the game is expected in spring 2026. It’s hoped that Starfield will receive an improved re-release as a result, similar to a positive turnaround experience like what Cyberpunk 2077 might have undergone, although we can’t say it’ll be exactly the same situation. Instead, Bethesda may be aiming for something comparable in terms of success.
Are you convinced by those stories going around? Is there a chance that an enhanced version of Starfield might be coming to PS5? See if anyone has found a new alien species in the comments here.
