Russell T Davies’s “eagerly awaited” new drama with It’s a Sin team releases first look with British acting legends

Channel 4 has released initial images from Russell T Davies’ upcoming drama, ‘Tip Toe.’ The series centers on a growing conflict between two neighbors in Manchester who have known each other for years.

Alan Cumming, known from The Traitors US, and David Morrissey star as Leo and Clive, neighbors who have lived peacefully side-by-side for over ten years.

Just when things seem to be calming down, the situation around them is actually becoming more fraught with tension, according to Channel 4. What starts as disagreements between neighbors quickly escalates, as words are used to hurt and opinions become extreme, ultimately turning them into dangerous adversaries.

The show depicts Davies’ highly anticipated comeback to television as a gripping, unsettling drama set in the suburbs that questions our sense of security.

Three new photos reveal the main characters: Leo is pictured on Manchester’s vibrant Canal Street, surrounded by pride flags and lights. Below him, Clive looks less than thrilled as he steps out of his work van.

Joining the cast of Tip Toe is Pooky Quesnel, known for her role in Moonflower Murders, who will play Clive’s wife, Marie. Jackson Connor (Masters of the Air) and Joseph Evans (The Map That Leads To You) will portray their sons, George and Saul.

Elizabeth Berrington, known for her role in ‘Frauds,’ plays Leo’s close friend Stephanie. The cast also includes Iz Hesketh (‘Renegade Nell’), Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (‘Wednesday’), Paul Rhys (‘Saltburn’), Charlie Condou (‘Doctor Who’), Denise Welch (‘Waterloo Road’), and stage performer Shakeel Kimotho.

Tip Toe continues Russell T Davies’ successful partnership with Channel 4, following acclaimed LGBTQ+ series like Queer as Folk, Cucumber, and It’s a Sin.

This project also brings together Davies and Cumming, who recently worked together on Doctor Who’s fifteenth season. Cumming provided the voice for the animated villain, Mr. Ring-a-Ding, in the 1950s-themed episode, ‘Lux’.

When the show was announced, Russell T Davies explained that he was thrilled to be working with both Channel 4, a network he’s familiar with, and the vibrant Canal Street area. He felt compelled to write this story because the world is becoming increasingly challenging and uncertain, and he believes it’s time to stand up and fight for what’s right.
