Russell Wilson Clarifies Why His Name Is Mentioned in Epstein Files

Russell Wilson is intercepting the narrative.

Following the release of new documents related to Jeffrey Epstein by the U.S. Department of Justice, which included his name, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones explained why he was mentioned in the files.

On February 1st, he posted on X, emphatically stating, “Absolutely not!” He explained that someone tried to sell him a plane, but he had no idea who owned it and didn’t buy it. He added that he’d never spoken to or met the seller, and he was thankful for that.

Documents released on January 30th and reviewed by Us Weekly show that the convicted financier discussed buying his Gulfstream G-IV private jet with his pilot, Larry Visoski, via text messages.

In January 2019, Visoski emailed Epstein to say Wilson had been calling repeatedly after seeing the plane. This followed Wilson signing a four-year, $140 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks that same year.

Visoski explained in an email that Russell wants to keep his purchase of a new plane quiet until after he’s signed his contract with the Seattle Seahawks. He’s worried the news might impact his negotiations, so he’s looking for a way to secure the plane – potentially for two weeks, two months, or longer – until the deal is finalized.

The emails also noted that Wilson brought his wife, Ciara, along on a test flight and took a lot of pictures and videos.

Ultimately, the deal never went through.

Okay, so there’s been a lot of talk, and I wanted to clarify something directly. A representative for the NFL player has confirmed to The Seattle Times that he never actually bought the plane people were discussing. And, importantly, he didn’t even know that anyone was linking it to Epstein. It’s a simple misunderstanding, and I’m glad we could clear that up – transparency is key, right?
