That first attempt is usually just pure comedy, which is fun to write, but it lacks substance. So, I scrap it and rewrite the story as a drama, then weave the humor back in.
I’m really impressed! This gives a fascinating look at how the *Deadpool* movies are made, and it all clicks into place. Despite all the R-rated humor in each film, there’s a surprisingly strong emotional core. That balance is probably the main reason why these movies have been so successful with both critics and audiences.

Naturally, *Deadpool & Wolverine* featured the return of Hugh Jackman as Logan, but this time as a version of Wolverine from a different universe. Unlike the heroic Wolverine we’re used to, this one had failed to protect his family and the X-Men, leaving him full of regret and anger – a stark contrast to Wade Wilson’s usual playful behavior.
Ultimately, *Deadpool & Wolverine* proved the MCU still has major box office appeal. Fans are eager to see Deadpool and Wolverine appear in future Marvel films, particularly the next two *Avengers* movies, but it remains to be seen if and when that will happen.
