Ryan Reynolds’ son Olin is definitely, maybe a fan of one of his parents’ most panned films.
Ryan Reynolds, known for playing Deadpool, shared that his 2-year-old daughter is obsessed with the 2011 film Green Lantern, which he starred in with his wife, Blake Lively. Despite the movie not being a box office success, their little one loves watching it.
Ryan explained that while it might seem funny, his son loves the movie and watches it constantly. He shared that it took a lot of effort to reach a point where he could watch it without immediately thinking about how things could have been improved during production. He said this during a recent talk at The Wall Street Journal’s CMO Council Summit.
Even though he might be embarrassed by some of his older roles, the actor known for Proposal—who shares three daughters, James (10), Inez (9), and Betty (6), with Blake—views the DC Comics movie as a chance to consider how much he’s developed as a professional. He explained that he used to be very eager to please, always saying, “Yes, sir. No, sir. Whatever you need.”
Plus, Ryan relishes the chance to teach his kids about life through what he calls his “failures.”
My kids think I’m successful – that’s all they see. People are always congratulating me and asking for pictures, and I usually agree. But I’ve realized it’s important to also talk to them about my failures, because those are actually the foundation for everything I’ve achieved.
Ryan readily shares life lessons from his work with his children, but he also emphasizes how challenging it is to raise a son, requiring immense strength and resilience.

It’s simple – three daughters,” the 49-year-old said on Late Night With Seth Meyers last October. “Then you add a son, and he destroys everything.”
He added, “I’m, like, in direct competition with this young man.”
Ryan playfully said he and Blake definitely wouldn’t have had a fourth child if their first three kids had all been boys.
He jokingly said, “Absolutely not! I would never let anyone punch me in the groin. It’s out of the question.”
Ryan and Blake have created a wonderful family life with their four children, learning and growing along the way. Here’s a look back at their journey to becoming parents of four.
