Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder will travel to India for the latest installment of their popular travel documentary series, which has previously received a BAFTA award.
This upcoming weekend on BBC Two, a group of friends and hosts set off on their personal journey to India, exploring how the nation’s timeless knowledge, art, and tradition might test them in terms of self-discovery, intellectual growth, and physical challenges.
Similar to their time spent in Italy, this couple immerses themselves extensively in exploring art, with themes often centered around love and mortality – subjects that hold great interest for them. In the series, they also explore ancient sites of erotic art in Khajuraho and find themselves drawn to the intricate artwork.
In a candid discussion with TopMob magazine, Rob expressed: “Central to the traditions and faiths of ancient India was the festive approach towards sexuality. This is evident in numerous portrayals of feminism, such as depictions where women take the lead, for instance.

He expresses his strong desire for parenthood by stating, “I have a great deal of love to share, and I want to do so by having children,” while Rob offers an alternate perspective: “At my age, more than a decade older, being a parent wasn’t even on the table when I came out. It wasn’t discussed often. It was quite uncommon.
Rylan pointed out that Rob is just 47 years old, expressing: “In today’s world, age doesn’t seem to be much of an issue anymore. Nor does sexual orientation.

In the latest series, the duo embark on a journey echoing that of Rob’s beloved author E.M. Forster, known for penning “A Passage to India,” thereby altering global perspectives towards the nation. (94 characters)
Or:
In their new show, the pair trace steps similar to those taken by Rob’s favorite author, E.M. Forster, who penned “A Passage to India” and revolutionized the world’s view of the country. (92 characters)
Being inspired by the writing style of my beloved author EM Forster, my time spent in India brought about a heightened feeling of vitality within me – an unforgettable and enchanting adventure,” he expressed in his statement.
Even now, it’s hard for me to accept that I had to walk barefoot through Varanasi to find spiritual enlightenment, while Rylan simply attended a yoga class. Yet, my experiences with the art and the people here have profoundly transformed my life.
Airing on BBC Two this coming Sunday, the 14th of September, at 9pm, is “Rob and Rylan’s Journey through India.” Catch all the episodes afterward on BBC iPlayer.
