As a huge fan, I was so excited to see S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl finally launch on PS5! It’s awesome to see GSC Game World publicly thanking the Xbox team for their support too. They said Xbox showed real care and professionalism throughout development, and that their help meant a lot, especially when things were really tough. It’s great to see that kind of support in the gaming world.
It all began with just one email, but it blossomed into an incredibly successful partnership,” GSC Game World shared on social media. “The collaboration ultimately brought joy to millions of players.
We truly appreciate everything the Xbox team has done for us – their partnership, fantastic presentations, dedication, and professionalism meant the world. Their support was always there, even when things were tough, and together we created an amazing experience for players. We’re incredibly proud of what we accomplished as a team, and things would have been very different without them.
The developer added that even though S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl may eventually leave Xbox Game Pass, the relationship between the game and Xbox will remain strong. This suggests Xbox may continue to support the game’s development with potential future downloadable content, like new stories and experiences.
The developers announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be removed from Game Pass, but they emphasized that their community and support will continue. They’re excited about the future of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe, especially with new players joining, and are already working on story expansions, new content, and other surprises for fans.
This week, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl received a significant update for PC and Xbox Series X/S, adding a challenging new Master Difficulty mode. This mode is only available when starting a new game. The update also introduced Expedition Mode, which limits saving – you can only save when you completely exit the game.
The update also improves stamina and sprinting, and introduces a new Immersive Mode. This mode quickly hides the game’s interface, letting you take clear, beautiful screenshots.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been out on PC and Xbox Series X/S since November 2024. The game is launching on PS5 today, and we expect this will bring in even more players.
