The original Sakura Wars game was first released for the Saturn console on September 27, 1996. Since then, six main games have been released, including Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die (1998), Sakura Wars 3: Is Paris Burning? (2001), Sakura Wars 4: Fall in Love, Maidens (2002), Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love (2005), and a reimagining of the series in 2019 simply titled Sakura Wars. Beyond these, there have also been several remakes and related games.
