Over thirty years after the blockbuster dinosaur film Jurassic Park premiered, three of its original stars have reunited. Based on Michael Crichton’s novel and written by David Koepp, the movie came out in 1993, earned over $1 billion globally, and received three Academy Awards.
Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, the stars of the original Jurassic Park, are teaming up again after 33 years! However, they’re not making a new movie – they’re appearing in a Super Bowl ad for Xfinity. The ad is directed by Taika Waititi, known for films like Jojo Rabbit and Thor: Ragnarok.
Some images from the upcoming Super Bowl commercial, set to air on February 8th, have been revealed. One photo features Sam Neill as his character Alan Grant from Jurassic Park. Another shows Laura Dern as Ellie Sattler, running and smiling with dinosaurs visible behind her. Jeff Goldblum is pictured recreating a famous Jurassic Park pose while holding a tablet.
Jurassic Park is still a fan favorite, earning a 91% approval rating from both critics and general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Over 250,000 people have shared their reviews of the film on the site.
This commercial brings Jeff Goldblum and Taika Waititi back together, much like their work on Thor: Ragnarok. In that movie, Goldblum played the Grandmaster, a powerful being who governed the planet Sakaar.
Will There Be More Jurassic Movies in the Future?
As a longtime fan, I’ve seen the Jurassic Park franchise really expand over the years. Beyond the original, we got The Lost World: Jurassic Park back in ’97, and then the Jurassic World films with Chris Pratt, starting in 2015. Good news for Jurassic World fans – both that first film and 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom are currently available to stream for free. Unfortunately, if you’re looking for 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion on Tubi, you’re out of luck. You’ll need a Peacock subscription for that one.
You can now watch the newest Jurassic film, Jurassic World: Rebirth, on Peacock. Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by the original Jurassic Park screenwriter, David Koepp, the movie features Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey. Since its release in July 2025, it’s earned over $869 million globally, according to Box Office Mojo.
However, in September 2025, people started hearing rumors that the Jurassic World story might not be over. Then, in November 2025, reports surfaced that Universal Pictures is hoping to bring back the entire team from Jurassic World: Rebirth, including director Gareth Edwards, to make another film.
So, the buzz back then was that Jeff Goldblum was really close to signing on for another Jurassic sequel – it was being reported he was in the final stages of negotiation. And Scarlett Johansson was already confirmed to reprise her role as Zora Bennett. Interestingly, back in July 2025, Goldblum himself hinted at the possibility when asked about returning, saying there ‘maybe something in there’ – pretty coy, but definitely a hopeful sign at the time!
You can watch the original 1993 film Jurassic Park on AMC+. Plus, keep an eye out for the cast reunion in a new Xfinity ad, which will also air during the Super Bowl on February 8th.
