As an analyst, I’ve been tracking SanDisk’s recent product releases, and earlier this November they introduced the SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive. It’s a new addition to their line of portable storage solutions.
This small device plugs into computers, laptops, and other compatible devices and is designed to stay connected indefinitely.
This drive is available in a range of storage options: 64GB ($15.99), 128GB ($21.99), 256GB ($29.99), 512GB ($59.99), and 1TB ($117.99). All models feature a USB 3.2 Gen 1 connection for data transfer speeds up to 400MB/s.
It’s also designed to be small and save space, and it’s durable enough to withstand minor impacts. Plus, its understated look helps it fit in seamlessly with your other equipment.

Although not as fast as dedicated external SSDs, a transfer speed of 400 MB/s is really good for a USB flash drive. At that speed, you could even potentially play simple 2D games directly from the drive.
At $117, the 1TB SanDisk drive is a more affordable way to increase your computer’s storage compared to replacing your existing internal SSD. Some SSDs, like the WD_BLACK SN8100, can cost two or even three times as much.
We’re getting this device at a good time, as many new laptops and computers are leaving out traditional SD and microSD card readers. Instead, they’re using built-in storage that can’t be expanded, or pushing people to rely on cloud storage.
The SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive solves the problem of needing to constantly plug and unplug backups. Its modern design allows you to simply leave it connected to your device as a permanent, easy-to-use backup drive.
I’ve been checking this device out, and good news – you can already buy it on Amazon and directly from SanDisk’s website! They’re planning to roll it out to more stores soon, so keep an eye out if those are your preferred places to shop.

The SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C flash drive lets you protect your files with encryption and passwords using the SanDisk Memory Zone software.

Yes, it will work if you have a USB-C to USB-A adapter. However, using the adapter might slow down how fast files transfer on the SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive.
