Housemarque, the team behind Returnal, has revealed the first look at gameplay for their new roguelite shooter, Saros. It appears to be just as quick and intense as Returnal.
Check out the gameplay trailer below to get a glimpse:
Saros is a fast-paced, sci-fi third-person shooter that feels very similar to the game Returnal, though it’s a distinct title.
You play as Arjun Devraj in a game set on Carcosa, a planet that constantly changes its form. While the full story is a secret, expect a lot of action – you’ll be shooting at almost anything you see!

I’m really excited about this new shield mechanic in Saros! It lets you block enemy attacks, which is a huge relief when things get crazy. It basically gives you a little breathing room in the middle of all the action, and I think it’s going to be a game-changer.
Saros is different from Returnal because it’s a roguelite game. This means you’ll earn lasting improvements that carry over between each attempt, so you won’t have to start completely from scratch every time. You’ll always be making real progress.
You can earn an upgrade that gives you a second chance – if you’re defeated, you’ll be revived once to keep playing.
Housemarque has revealed when Saros will be available, along with new gameplay. The game comes out on PS5 on March 20, 2026, and will also take advantage of the enhanced features of the PS5 Pro.
