Sony is using a growing trend among publishers: if you purchase the more expensive version of Housemarque’s new roguelite game, you can start playing it 48 hours before its official release on April 30th.
So, the game usually costs $69.99 or £69.99, but if I want to get in early with advanced access, it’ll set me back $79.99 or £79.99. Basically, it’s an extra ten bucks to play before everyone else.
It’s worth noting that the pricier package comes with three unique armor sets based on the games Returnal, God of War, and Ghost of Tsushima.
Sony has used this approach before. For example, those who purchased the more expensive edition of Death Stranding 2 received early access. The MLB The Show games have also offered similar perks for quite some time.
Honestly, I’m a little disappointed with how the Saros release is being handled. The real launch date is April 28th, and if you don’t want to spend extra money, it looks like the game is delayed by two days for us fans.
