Satisfactory Gets PS5 and Xbox Series X Release Date

The trailer for the game “Satisfactory” has been released, revealing that it will soon be available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Currently available on PC, this open-world automation building game by Coffee Stain Studios has an impressive rating on Steam, with many positive reviews making it one of the top-rated games on the platform. Initially announced during the Gamescom convention, the console versions will launch on November 4th, providing a more accessible way for players to enjoy “Satisfactory”.

The trailer indicates that the game titled “Satisfactory” is set to launch on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. However, it remains uncertain whether there will be any differences between these console versions and their PC counterparts, or if crossplay functionality will be introduced in the future. At the start of the year, Coffee Stain Studios hinted at plans to bring the game to consoles, acknowledging the difficulties involved in porting the game over.

In the YouTube video, Coffee Stain Studios’ Community Manager Mikael Niazi pointed out that creating and releasing a game as intricate as Satisfactory is not just a matter of putting it on a disc and calling it done. He also mentioned considering the challenge of fitting such a complex game onto a relatively small controller.

Originally, it was intended that the console versions of the game would launch during Q1 of this year. However, due to shifting conditions in game development, a delay was necessary, as explained by Niazi. During a March livestream discussing the console releases, Coffee Game Studios clarified that the consoles would be released post-update 1.1 for the game and would incorporate 1.1 content.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share that in June, we dropped the latest update, version 1.1, which brought a slew of fresh features and polished up our existing systems to make gameplay smoother and more streamlined, especially in crucial aspects. However, during a live developer stream following the release, when a question about crossplay with consoles came up, Niazi gave a somewhat negative response but didn’t completely close the door for it in the future.

Niazi clearly stated during a June livestream on YouTube that console versions will definitely not be available at their launch. However, he expressed uncertainty about the future and mentioned that they value crossplay between consoles and PC. Although it won’t be immediately available after console releases, crossplay could potentially become a feature later on if they decide to implement it.
