Microsoft announced that Satya Nadella won’t be giving the keynote speech at Ignite 2025. Instead, Judson Althoff, who recently became CEO of commercial operations, will deliver the keynote presentation in November.
Microsoft has announced that Judson Althoff, CEO of their commercial business, will deliver the opening keynote at the Microsoft Ignite conference in San Francisco. He’ll be joined on stage by other Microsoft leaders such as Scott Guthrie, Ryan Roslansky, Asha Sharma, Charles Lamanna, and Arun Ulag, among others, according to a Microsoft spokesperson who confirmed this to Windows Central.
For the first time, Satya Nadella won’t be delivering the opening keynote at Microsoft Ignite. He recently shared that he’s shifting his focus to more long-term, technical projects and has given Althoff greater responsibility for the company’s day-to-day business operations.
He’s probably no longer giving the keynote speech at Ignite because his role has changed; he was originally scheduled to speak, but recently removed from the list. With Satya now concentrating on other priorities, Althoff appears set to lead the Ignite conference this year.
Microsoft Ignite has traditionally focused on IT professionals and businesses, and this year appears to be continuing that trend. With AI being a major focus right now, we expect most of the announcements to center around how it’s benefiting those same customers and IT experts.
Ignite 2024 will be held in San Francisco from November 18th to 21st, and we’re expecting more than 17,000 people to join us both in person and virtually. If you can’t make it to San Francisco, you can still watch the main keynotes live, and recordings of many sessions will be available online afterward.
