Savannah Chrisleyis not planning to reconcile with Lindsie Chrisley anytime soon.
Two months following the presidential pardon for tax evasion offenses given to her parents, Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, the 27-year-old offers a glimpse of their current relationship with her elder sister.
In the intriguing sneak peek of “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality,” Savannah clearly stated, “In the show, it’s revealed that the prosecutors reviewed a letter penned by Lindsie. And let me tell you, as her once devoted fan, I can’t help but take a stand. ‘We’re no longer kin,’ I find myself saying, ‘Surrender that last name.’
It seems that Savannah isn’t the only one harboring resentment towards Lindsie, as Grayson Chrisley, at 19 years old, expresses a similar sentiment in a confessional section of the trailer: “Our own family members have betrayed us.
Simultaneously with the family’s statements, headlines from sensationalist news sources accusing Lindsie of involvement in her parents’ court case appear on the screen. Additionally, a headline about Todd having a “spurned male lover” is displayed.
In a similar vein, Savannah’s elder sibling, Chase Chrisley, who is 29 years old, also voices his thoughts on how the legal dispute between Todd and Julie significantly impacted their lives.
Chase remarks, ‘If your own blood can betray you, then certainly a stranger can too.’
TopMob News has attempted to contact Lindsie concerning the recent remarks made by her family, however, we have not received a response as of now.
Though Lindsie stated in March that there was no hostility during her estrangement from her entire family, her feud with Savannah has persisted publicly. Previously, Lindsie accused Savannah of betraying her in public remarks.
In a recent episode of my podcast, “The Southern Tea,” I confessed that my sister has never reached out to me privately to address our apparent issues and has repeatedly stated in public that we have no relationship whatsoever. To put it bluntly, I can’t help but feel the weight of this non-existent bond.
Certainly, Lindsie clearly showed signs of irritation as Savannah persistently discussed her in open dialogues.
Lindsie, who’s mother to son Jackson with her ex Will Campbell, expressed during the show, “I may never fully grasp it, but I wish it provides her what she’s searching for in her actions.
However, despite Lindsie having cut ties with her family since then, she subtly expressed a response to her parents’ pardon in May through her Instagram Story. The message read, “With God, all things are possible.
To revisit the Chrisley’s legal battle from beginning to end, keep reading…
In August 2019, a federal grand jury in Atlanta charged Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley with 12 counts, including wire fraud, conspiring to commit bank fraud, and conspiring to defraud the United States. As reported by NBC News, the alleged offenses date back to the mid-2000s and involve a variety of deceitful activities, such as evading approximately $2 million in state taxes from 2008 to 2016 and concealing over $1 million from the Internal Revenue Service.
In the heart-pounding moments just prior to the indictment’s release, I, an ardent supporter, found myself captivated by Todd’s assertion of his and his beloved spouse’s innocence. Instead, he pointed a finger at a trusted employee, claiming this person had been deceitfully pilfering from us and wielding the threat of damning secrets as a weapon.
He declared in an Instagram post that there is no secret or cause for embarrassment on his part. Not only does he firmly believe that he has acted without fault, but he also has substantial proof and numerous supporting witnesses to back up his claims.
Three years after the Chrisley Knows Best celebrities found themselves in court, a trial ensued. Over a span of three weeks, numerous testimonies were heard. Despite pleading not guilty, they were both convicted on all charges related to tax evasion and bank fraud on June 7, 2022.
The U.S. Attorney’s office accused the pair, including their accountant Peter Tarantino (who was tried alongside them), of working together to swindle banks out of over $30 million across a ten-year period.
In Keri Farley’s June 2022 statement as Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta, she emphasized that regardless of a person’s reputation, wealth, or status, dishonesty through lying, cheating, and stealing will never evade justice. Her words underscored the fact that when greed takes hold, the ultimate verdict for those involved in financial crimes is always guilty, demonstrating yet again that such actions do not lead to profit.
Approximately five months after the incident, the Northern District of Georgia handed down a sentence for Todd – 12 years in prison, while Julie received a sentence of seven years. (In comparison, Peter received a sentence of three years in prison.)
For approximately ten years, the accused individuals swindled banks out of numerous millions of dollars without fulfilling their federal tax obligations, according to U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan in a statement from November 2022. The significant prison terms they received demonstrate the size of their illegal scheme and should act as a deterrent for anyone considering abusing our nation’s banking system for unjust enrichment.
In September 2023, the release dates for both Julie and Todd were adjusted – Julie is now set to be freed a year and a half ahead of schedule, while Todd will be discharged two years before his initially planned 2035 release date.
Jay Surgent, their lawyer, stated to Insider in September 2023 that without a doubt, Todd and Julie are exemplary inmates who have been given unusually long sentences. He added that Todd’s sentence has been reduced to 10 years, while Julie is now serving a five-year term.
In January 2023, Todd and his partner began serving their individual prison terms. Todd was incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution (FPI) in Pensacola, Florida, while Julie served her sentence at a separate federal penitentiary in Lexington, Kentucky.
Approximately half a year following the incarceration of Julie and Todd, Savannah Chrisley publicly discussed their well-being. She disclosed that while in prison, they had no means of communication with each other.
In her August 2023 Instagram post, she expressed: “It’s been 195 days since we last spoke… My heart is aching… I implore you all for justice!
She also pushed back at rumors about their time in prison.
She found it amusing since one of them commented, “He’s let himself go,” she mentioned on her Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast. To clarify, hair dye isn’t available in prisons. So naturally, his hair is gray! However, if I could speak to him now, I would say, “Keep it that way.” In fact, he looks great with the gray hair! He has a terrific prison barber.
Yet, while confined within prison walls, Todd voiced his concerns over the alleged maltreatment he experienced at the federal penitentiary in Pensacola, Florida.
He mentioned during a phone conversation on the show Cuomo in December 2023 that the food was outdated. Specifically, it had passed its expiration date by about a year.
He went on to say, “There are rats and squirrels infesting the storage area where the food is kept. To make matters worse, they concealed it under plastic sheets but later tore open the ceiling due to mold growth. The damage was so severe that a dead cat fell from the ceiling onto the food.
Apart from the atrocities occurring in the cafeteria, he claimed that an individual also tried to blackmail his family.
He mentioned that someone had snapped a picture of him asleep and shared it with his daughter, adding a request for $2,600 per month in exchange for his protection.
Savannah, currently responsible for her younger siblings Grayson and Chloe due to her parents’ incarceration, shared that the consequences of their convictions and their separation have been a heavy burden on her.
In a conversation with TopMob News in March 2024, she disclosed that their last conversation occurred the day they both entered federal prison. She also claimed that there is a significant amount of retribution being directed towards her father due to our family’s vocal criticisms regarding the prison conditions.
To clarify, she asserted that the prison authorities were obstructing a significant amount of his email communications with her mother.
Although trying to keep the focus on others, she acknowledged that the situation could be overpowering occasionally.
Savannah shared on her podcast ‘Unlocked’ in April 2024, “What I find hard is the sensation that Mom and Dad feel as if life just keeps going without them. It reminds me of how I sometimes get the feeling with people in my life; it’s like they carry on living their lives without giving much thought to what I’m going through.
She went on saying, “I’m finding it tough to breathe here, and it seems like I’m constantly battling, whether it’s about finances with the children, or trying to manage my role as a parent, or dealing with my relationships.
In June 2024, Julie’s seven-year prison term was reversed by a three-judge panel from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. While they upheld her convictions, the court found that the sentencing judge in the 2022 trial had incorrectly calculated the sentence for the reality star.
The judges declared in their decision that the district court failed to specify the evidence it used to convict Julie of losses prior to 2007, making it impossible for us to locate this evidence. Therefore, they have decided to overturn Julie’s sentence and send the case back to the district court for them to make the necessary factual determinations regarding loss, restitution, and forfeiture, as well as re-sentence Julie accordingly.
In my role as a dedicated follower, I learned that the case assigned to me was delegated to a lower court for them to decide on the appropriate modifications in my sentencing, whereas Todd’s original sentencing remained unchanged.
After having her prison sentence overturned three months ago, the court in Atlanta eventually confirmed Julie’s original seven-year prison term. In a heartfelt show of remorse, she apologized, not only to the court but also to her children.
Julie expressed remorse before the court, stating that she’s had plenty of time to reflect on her words over the years and feels regretful for her actions and the circumstances that have brought us to this point, as reported by People during the September 25th hearing. She clarified that while she has spent 20 months in prison, her remorse extends beyond that period, reaching back to the events leading up to the trial, and she apologizes for her actions that ultimately led to our current situation.
She’s made every effort possible to reconnect with her family, learning new abilities such as operating a forklift and serving food professionally. This phase of her life has been the toughest, and she can never fully repay her children for their hardships. For that, she expresses her deepest apologies.
The Chrisleys are returning home. On May 27, 2025, they were granted clemency by then-President Donald Trump during a telephone conversation with Savannah.
Over these last two and a half years, I’ve left no stone unturned in my relentless pursuit to secure my beloved parents’ release and reunite our family. Today, this long-awaited moment is nothing short of a miraculous answer to countless heartfelt prayers. I am deeply thankful to President Trump for his discernment, truthfulness, and the compassion that led him to restore the sanctity of our family unit.
They were both released on May 28, 2025.
After Todd and Julie regained their freedom, they swiftly adjusted to a changed routine, yet both acknowledged that their incarceration left an indelible mark upon them.
In a conversation on My View with Lara Trump back in June 2025, Todd expressed that “We’ve evolved, and failing to do so during these past 28 months would have been a squandered opportunity.
Due to the fact that they had expected to remain in prison for several more months, the couple described their unexpected homecoming as incredibly strange.
In his May 2025 press conference, Todd expressed his feelings upon waking up: “It felt truly real, I realized – I was home,” he said. He went on to express gratitude for being reunited with his family under one roof, enjoying meals together, offering prayers together, and standing united in their ongoing struggle.
