Savannah Guthrie’s Today Family Shows Support Amid Missing Mom Search

The Today anchors are praying for the safe return of Savannah Guthrie’s mom.

When the journalist’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing in Arizona on February 2nd, her colleagues at NBC’s morning show quickly came together to offer their support.

Jenna Bush Hager shared on the February 2nd episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle that she and Nancy are close friends, saying, “We love Nancy.”

Police in Arizona are looking for an 84-year-old woman who was reported missing on February 1st, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos. While she doesn’t have any known memory problems, Sheriff Nanos stated on February 2nd that she has some health issues, physical limitations, and requires medication.

“Medication that if she doesn’t have in 24 hours,” Nanos continued, “it could be fatal.”

Meanwhile, Sheinelle Jones emphasized on Today the importance of community during this difficult time.

She felt the show truly represented the community at its finest when it asked viewers to reach out to the Pima County Sheriff’s department with any information related to the case, even if it seemed insignificant.

She added, “So we’re sending our prayers but we’re also sending our collective action.”

Before concluding the segment, both hosts continued, “We love you, Savannah.”

And Sunday Today anchor Willie Geist echoed Sheinelle’s actionable sentiment.

Okay, so I’m seriously worried! I saw this post on Instagram, and it just broke my heart. This guy was pleading with everyone to help find Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy! He posted on his Story on February 2nd, saying if anyone has any clue where she is, please, please call the Pima Sheriff’s Department in Arizona. He even included the phone number! I’m just so hoping she’s found safe, and I’m sending all my support to Savannah and her family. It’s awful!

Savannah’s former colleague, Hoda Kotb, also responded to the surprising announcement. She shared a touching photo of Savannah with her mother on Instagram, and simply added a red heart and praying hands emoji to the post on February 2nd.

Savannah’s friends and coworkers have been sending their support after she announced that her mother is missing. Savannah shares two children, 11-year-old Vale and 9-year-old Charley, with her husband, Michael Feldman.

In a statement released on February 2nd, she expressed her family’s gratitude for all the kind thoughts, prayers, and support they’ve received. Their priority right now is bringing Nancy home safely.

Oh my gosh, I just heard her statement and it was everything. She actually thanked the police, which, honestly, they deserved it for working so hard on this! And then she pleaded with anyone who knows anything to please, please reach out to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. It’s just… so perfect. I’m seriously obsessed with how much she cares!
