Scarllett Johansson’s Stalker Arrested for SNL Bomb Threat

Previously accused of stalking, a man identified as Scarlett Johansson’s husband, Colin Jost, has been taken into custody for reportedly making threats to bomb the studios of Saturday Night Live, where he is employed.

On April 2nd, the New York Police Department apprehended Michael Branham, one day following the alleged occurrence, as stated in court records obtained by TopMob News. During his initial court appearance, Branham, who is 48 years old, denied the charges of fabricating an incident and threatening mass harm, according to NBC News, quoting court documents. His bail was fixed at $100,000.

It was reported by sources familiar with the situation to NBC News that Branham was apprehended following his sending of a bomb warning to a Connecticut college and an official from that institution who then informed the police about it. However, according to two authorities involved in the case, the threat was considered not genuine.

Instead, Branham’s legal representative, Jamie Niskanen-Singer, contended during the April 3 hearing that a fraudster might have been responsible for the bomb threat. She claimed that Branham had previously been deceived online by individuals pretending to be Johansson.

The lawyer suggested in court, as reported by the New York Post, that it’s plausible he was tricked, your honor. The sole evidence presented was a text message, and he implied that there could be someone attempting to frame him.

According to the New York Post, the judge refused the plea and furthermore, issued protective orders for both Johansson and Jost against Branham during the arraignment. A court hearing regarding the bomb threat incident has been set for April 8th, as indicated in the court records.

TopMob News contacted the legal representative of Branham and the spokesperson for Johansson, but neither party has responded yet.

2024 saw the court rejecting the actress from “Black Widow” over a technicality, as the supposed stalker failed to receive the legal documents. According to The Blast, her lawyer admitted they were unable to deliver them.

A person named Branham, who coincidentally shares the same location, name, and age with another individual in public records, has posted numerous messages about Johansson on social media during the past month. One of these posts includes a selfie displaying a chest tattoo of a heart with her name inscribed, as reported by TopMob News after a thorough examination.

According to NBC News, neither TopMob nor its parent company, NBCUniversal, provided a comment regarding the recent arrest.

In November 2023, Johansson, who has a 3-year-old son named Cosmo with Jost and a 10-year-old daughter named Rose with her former husband Dauriac, submitted a petition for a restraining order in a California court against an individual sharing the same name and age as Branham. She claimed this person has been harassing her since August 2022, and his actions have become increasingly aggressive, according to The Blast’s report.

In 2024, the court turned down the actress from “Black Widow” on a procedural issue – her supposed stalker hadn’t been given the necessary documents. According to “The Blast”, her lawyer admitted they were unable to deliver them.

A person named Branham, who resides at the same location as another individual sharing the same name and age in public records, has posted several social media entries about Johansson during the last month.
