In the upcoming retro-styled side-scrolling action game, Scott Pilgrim EX, developers Tribute Games have confirmed that Roxie Richter and Lucas Lee, former villains who were once in our protagonist’s love life, will be playable characters.

Get the latest details below.

In the struggle of Scott Pilgrim EX, two former adversaries from the renowned League of Evil Exes make their appearance – Lucas Lee, the burly fighter, and Roxie Richter, the diminutive menace. Both characters are rendered in Tribute Games’ distinctive high-quality, retro art style. Lucas, taking a break from his celebrity lifestyle, uses his grappling abilities and weaponized skateboard (essentially, he attacks with it) to deal with any enemies blocking his path. Roxie, on the other hand, wields her signature sword for deadly slashing and dicing, playing the role of a fast-moving, agile half-ninja equipped with smoke bombs and battlefield moves that make her resemble a blender in action.

In the game titled “Scott Pilgrim EX“, an exciting tale unfolds in Toronto’s hippest band, Sex Bob-omb, gets kidnapped, and their musical instruments are stolen, causing chaos throughout the city. Monsters, vegetarians, and robots spread terror. The unexpected duo of Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, and allies like Lucas and Roxie must fight their way through the city’s streets, beaches, and perhaps even travel back in time to save the band, the city, and the world. Initially, seven playable characters will be available in the game, with Scott and Ramona expected to gain additional allies before the launch of “Scott Pilgrim EX“.

Engage in intense battles set against a vibrant, game-inspired version of Toronto, filled with Scott Pilgrim references and bursting colors. Complete missions as you conquer various gangs controlling different city districts. Each character possesses a unique, customizable arsenal, from baseball bats to enchanted rods, turnips and other unusual items found within the highly interactive game environment. The team at Tribute Games collaborated with Bryan Lee O’Malley to create a fresh storyline for this installment, while Anamanaguchi, alumni from Scott Pilgrim, have crafted new music. This results in an exciting new addition to the franchise that both longtime fans and newcomers can enjoy.

The game titled “Scott Pilgrim EX” will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch (in two versions), PlayStation 4, and PC through Steam by early 2026.
