The next installment in the popular slasher series is coming soon! Following significant changes to the cast – bringing back familiar faces from the past – the first trailer has finally been released.
The trailer for Scream 7 is finally here, arriving four months before the movie hits theaters. The Scream franchise first debuted in 1996, created by Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson. While the 2022 reboot, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Radio Silence) and starring Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, seemed to be heading in a new direction, significant cast changes led to a different approach for the seventh film. Scream 7 will now feature returning characters from the original movies, and notably, Kevin Williamson will be directing this time around.
The trailer begins with a couple staying overnight at the old Macher house, which has been renovated as an Airbnb and serves as a memorial to the Woodsboro killings. Unfortunately, they soon encounter a new Ghostface.
I’m so excited to see Neve Campbell back as Sydney Prescott! It looks like she’s moved, but unfortunately, Ghostface has followed her and is now putting her and her daughter in danger. Thankfully, she’s not facing this alone – Courteney Cox is returning as Gale Weathers, which is amazing! Plus, we get to see Mindy and Chad, played by Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding, back in action too – can’t wait!
A new Ghostface killer appears in the town where Sidney Prescott has been trying to live a peaceful life, and this time, Sidney’s daughter is the target. To protect her family, Sidney is forced to confront the terrifying events of her past and stop the cycle of violence for good.
Scream 7 premieres in theaters on Feb. 27, 2026.
