Be warned, this article reveals details about Scream 7. The latest Scream movie came very close to resurrecting a classic character from previous films.
Okay, so “Scream 7” brings Neve Campbell back as Sidney Prescott, and let me tell you, her life is still a horror show. This time, the terror hits even closer to home when a new Ghostface starts stalking her daughter, Tatum. But here’s where it gets really twisted – Sidney starts getting video calls…from Stu Macher, one of the original Ghostface killers! It’s a seriously unsettling development and throws everything into question. It’s a clever way to connect back to the very first film and ramp up the psychological horror.
The movie reveals that Stu is still deceased; the characters seen resembling him were actually AI recreations designed to further disturb Sidney. However, director Kevin Williamson shared with Esquire that they actually filmed scenes exploring the possibility of Stu’s return. “We filmed it both ways,” Williamson explained, adding they had a short scene at the end ready to use if they decided to bring him back. Ultimately, they decided the audience preferred he remain dead.
